I don't have the heart to post the actual report, a link to the CNN report can be found here:

I'll just post this and say fuck Trump supporters. If you are right about your religion then you are going to hell. Too bad for me that I don't believe it.

Conservative Evangelical Asks God To Give Her Strength To Incorporate Forced Hysterectomies Into Belief System

CORDOVA, TN—Praying that the Lord Almighty would help her understand the recent whistleblower reports about Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s treatment of migrant detainees, conservative evangelical woman Melissa Carson reportedly asked God Tuesday to give her strength to incorporate forced hysterectomies into her belief system. “Lord, show me how the forced removal of the uterus from multiple imprisoned women is evidence of our salvation by grace alone,” said the devout evangelical woman, scanning her Bible for a verse or two that might offer a reason for why ICE-affiliated physicians were performing hysterectomies on detained women, many of whom did not speak English and were not given information or choice about the procedures. “I know I’m asking an awful lot of you, Lord, but my religion teaches me that all life is sacred, and although I know you move in mysterious ways, I confess I am confused as to how forced hysterectomies fit into that. You are just testing me, Lord, and I know that, but I am going to need a little bit of divine help to understand this one.” At press time, Carson was praising the Lord for his guidance after remembering that the hysterectomies were completely justified because President Donald Trump was a divine being simply carrying out God’s will.

The Onion is a satire site but the report is real. Expect a real hoo-ha on this tomorrow. Go get them AOC.

They aren’t Christians. That’s plain to see.
Can you produce the Official, Undisputed, Clear and Unequivocal Rules of Christianity?

No you can't because they don't exist. Don't say the Bible, because not only is it rife with conflicting rules, in its present form it is only a few hundred years old.

"Christianity" has no inherent meaning and it has just become a way to justify all manner of bigotry, greed, and other behaviour that would have horrified the man it was named after.

You have a point, but still, approving mass non-medical hysterectomies perpetrated on people held in our prisons seems to be outside of what "treat others as you would be treated" implies.

I blame the people.
Certainly today with the advancement of our understanding of science and the ease to acquire information, I would agree.

I‘m talking about religion over the course of human history. Would you blame the people of Maya thousands of years ago for following their leader’s dogma?

Rule of Christianity: acceptance of Jesus Christ into your heart and turn your life over to him.

I accept this is your opinion. Even though I disagree with it.

It doesn't matter what the religion is, the purpose of religion is to help a society defend itself from outside influences, maintain social order, capture knowledge, pass it along to following generations and get people to cooperate with each other. Religion is social technology. a tool, no more evil or good than a hammer. So, no, I wouldn't blame the Maya for following a religion that helped their society compete and thrive even if I might disagree with elements of their religion, such as human sacrifice.

Regarding so-called Christians who follow Trump, they are just cafeteria Christians who pick and choose the parts of Christianity that they prefer. So, it's not their religion that disgusts me, it's their fake posturing. Also their pretentious use of religion to justify treatment of people in ways that seem to me to be outside of Judeo-Christian values. For example, this news that an ICE detention doctor is mutilating healthy women who are in US custody. Christian or not, this is outside of the norms that I, and most in the US, consider acceptable behavior.

As to the influence of religion in American society, and how faith has been co-opted by the powerful, are we all familiar with the "Family"? If you haven't seen this, it is good insight into how the religious right has used faith to pull the wool over the eyes of the electorate and to justify abhorrent, unchristian, behavior over and over again.
