Hi all,got 20 plants growing,5 AK47,5 super lemon haze and 10 cheese eight days into flower after six weeks of veg from seed and every plant has these white flecks all over the leaves.I'm using Biobizz Allmix as a medium under two 600 watt hps.The plants are still healthy and looking great but was just wandering if anyone has seen this before and is it some sort of a deficiency?

Thanks man,i appreciate your spot on diagnosis.Got out my 35x magnifying glass and low and behold there's these tiny, tiny little creatures munching away at the leaves.I went to my local grow shop and he sold me some stuff to spray all over the plant.Dunno what it's called but it cost me £25 for a tiny little bottle but i've ordered some super duper shit from your side of the water that's apparently gonna wipe 'em out for good.I watched the link that you attached and the grower reckoned that they don't harm the plant but other people say that they could really do the plant damage if left alone.Oh well we'll see what happens

they most certainly will kill the plant, pyrethrin works great on thrips

Also from experience SPINOSAD works wonders and is a great tool in a UK growers arsenal.

I have to get mine from USA eBay. Conserve NATURALYTE is my choice. MONTERAY garden insect spray is the other.

Hot shots no pest strips also are great to have around. Again from USA.

You could always avoid the spray and use sticky traps. ( Fly traps )

Even clear packing tape baited with a slice of potato will work. ( This will attract larva in the soil )

Takes a couple of weeks and few rolls of tape but bugs begone and no chems !

Also spray plant with Neem...they don't like the taste . Or Pepper spray used for mites.

Increase airflow ( Keeps them from settling )

Spraying the thrips on the plant is a start...but until you kill the larva they will come back.

You can also pour a layer of powdered glass or play ground sand on top...either will rip them up or suffocate them.

And lastly keep the top two inches of soil constantly raked ( Use a fork ) Unless of course your using sand or glass,

Spinosad is the best for thrips, its great stuff and doesnt harm the plant at all. Definitely hit them with that when it arrives in the post. Ive noticed that the little bastards seem to show up on the following grow even after they are seemingly gone. As a prevention, whenever I deal with them on one grow I always hit the next crop early on just to make sure they dont get the party started again.
