Today i noticed white foam covering a few of my nodes... what is causing this and how can i prevent it? Outdoor plant btw ... about 15 feet away from a creek

a pic could help to diagnose the problem... but it's probably what's known as a spittle. it comes from the spittlebug and it's usually harmless, just unattractive. wash it off and you'll most likely be fine.

yeah, I was told about these things when I was a kid. they called them "spit bugs" they just cover themselfs in a white foam that looks like saliva.
