It is. That was my point. It started with the ar-1 then went on to the ar-7 then the shotgun then into the ar-10 and 15.That Air Force .22 survival cal survival rifle was (and still is, even though Henry makes them now) called the AR-7.
There are many guns with the ar designation and only two would be considered assault rifles in their form with select fire.
If one wants to argue that an ar15 is an assault rifle that is one thing but to say ar stands for assault rifle is just false.

and yeah, AR is ArmaLite Rifle. i think one of those survival rifles he designed was in 22 Hornet which would be a neat little do-all caartridge.

A recreational firearm is one that is not used for killing things, much like a white van is usually a vehicle until driven into people.
A hammer is an occupational tool you use as a window hanger (when you can get work) and yet more people are killed by them and other blunt objects than rifles or shotguns (but not handguns).
How does it feel to know that you use an implement every other week (or 3) that kills more people than any scary assault rifle?

I was going to get a .22 mag or hr .17 for squirrel and such. I ended using a good air rifle and never went back. Good fast clean kills and cheap to shoot. Its a lot of fun. It takes a little skill to hit them in the head at 50 yards.
It makes a good shit hit the fan thing to have. Not so much for defense but for providing food. Order some extra seals for it and they will last a lifetime. A couple thousand rounds can be carried in a pocket.

Not my "pedantic cherry picking", the FBI's national statistics from 2011, and if you ever removed your mouse hand from your penis you'd know that and save yourself more than the usual embarrassment you incur when posting.
The "supermajority" can prove their intent by getting the many bills being proposed passed into law, and then enforce them with <gasp> a gun.
We're just lucky there have been more intelligent voters than the "supermajority" so far.

I am well trained and competent with quite a few kinds of weapons. Just don’t know anything about pellet guns.
It is asking for trouble to have guns around a Grow. Cops don’t like it. Judges might not let our medical laws apply if a gun is involved.
But hunting is common and having a bow around is not suspicious around here. And pellet rifles don’t count. And I like to shoot and have varmint problems here sometimes.
