white paint question

Flat white is the best, and if you have light leaking through would be the only reason to paint the outside black. As long as you have no light leaks the inside is the only thing that needs to reflect.

Good luck.

thank you. It's been a crazy few weeks trying to research what I need for my first grow. I just kind of want to just do it and learn through trial and error, but at the same time I want to make sure the first grow have the proper resources. Lots to learn and mistakes to be made.Hopefully I will get the rest of the material by this weekend.

No problem at all. That is the best way is through trial and error. It's the best way to learn. Start with some bag seed and have some fun.

will any kind of white paint work?

ultra pure white

and would it be a good idea to paint or spray paint the outside black? I bought emergency blanket but a little worried about heat.
This particular color is supposed to be their most reflective. Behr/HD claims up to 94% reflectivity. Some whites can be much lower, as low as 60%.

anything thats ultra pure means there is very little pigment in it, basically. you dont want this for growing, as stated cheap flat white is where it's at.

Weeks? Smh...... This is where people should start giving you advice. If you've only been reading for a couple weeks and you are stuck on reflective surfaces, then you are NOWHERE near ready....

i think im pretty much rdy to start, have all my soil, nutes, enough lumens, enough cfm, just had second thought about space blanket i had purchase do to heat spots, rising temps and it would also be more cost effective for flat white paint. What I need to research next is scrooge or lst for microgorw. Any thoughts ? The area is 4.4 square foot I think. I'm just waiting for my fan and carbon from amazon. I will be most likely growing ken's cut GDP. Can't wait for the shit to arrive.

definitely will be making a log.

Anyways, I'll just get flat white pant or ultra white later today at home depot. But it seems ultra white may be more reflective due to having more titanium dioxide. Thanks for all the info guys
