White Widow Bucket DWC, Very Short Distance Between Nodes

Hi guys, i was originally growing this plant in a cooler DWC but i was a noob and did some stuff wrong, one of the many problems was not enough oxygen in the water caused the roots to go brown and the plant to stop growing, but on the branches that formed during this time there is very short distance between the internodal growth, like for the branch of stem there would be a leaf coming out then almost another growing directly above it, for a few cm's all the way along the branch, the leaves are relativley small so it sort of just grows into this mess of leaves and bleh.

Does anybody know what actually causes this as i am unable to find anything on google and should i just let the leaves grow out or should i cut them back?

...dont know what might of caused this , but if you feel you should have more stretch in your plant just mouve the light a little away from plant ...

Sounds like not enough light to me. Use metal halide if your having stretch issues. My problem has always been the oppsite in DWC buckets. Too much stretch and not enough foliar formation.

what breeder? ams?

It was sitting directly under 4 fluros when it started to form, must of just been one of the weird things from all the stuff i had wrong at the time , im not sure what you mean by breeder, but my seed packet came from "seedman". Thanks for the help =]

I had an ams ww cut that did that after cloning it 3x, just got rid of it.

I vote genetics, I have some strains that do that and some that don't.

Hi guys, seeing how my white widow's didnt turn out, i just placed an order with nirvana for these magic beans!

1. AK-48 feminized (5 seeds)
   
2. Hawaii Maui Waui feminized (5 seeds)
3. Germination Kit (for 10 seeds)
   
4. Northern Light feminized (5 seeds)
   
5. Super Skunk feminized (5 seeds)

Hopefully i have better luck this time! Im going to expand my op to 4 buckets, 1 of each of these bad boys! Im so excited!

I have similar plants, Gods Gift, heres sum pics
the plant is over all about 18 inches tall
this is about 6-8 inches tall, a clone of the flowering one in smartpot

Hey amsdam, im not sure what your saying, are you saying your growing the same as my seeds that are on their way or are you saying that your plants have that same really short distance between nodes?

nah the whole plant had problems from day one, and the way the leaves were growin was just weird, hadnt seen it on here before.

ahhhh where did you get your beans from? I got mine from greenhouse, fem'd, hopefully they don't hermie but that's what the LSD is for. excited about that one

The original white widow i had problems with was from demonseeds but the actual seeds came from seedman, the new seeds ive ordered are from nirvana, all fem'd too . I read about that LSD strain, looks like some awesome shit! Good luck with that man! I think ill use my points ive built up on nirvana to get some LSD beans next round XD .... I FUCKIN LOVE GROWING!

I just finished blacking out my buckets with some plastic paint, water kept getting into the gaffer tape and making it go gross after a while, $18 a can but its worth it! I spent a whole day lookin for black buckets and black bucket lids that will ship to australia lol.

I have the exact same problem with my aero ww. Check this out. This is my 2nd week of flower. What the hell is going on with this thin? It's only 9 inches tall

This plant is sort of a mess. It looks like you never pruned, and there just isnt enough light penetrating the canopy to really get good growth down there. I'd hack all that shit off if you don't have flower sets yet. Also see how the leaves are so tiny down there? Thats never good to see fan leaves that small. Could be there isn't enough air circulating as well, but I can't 100% discern that from the photo. I can however say with complete accuracy that you don't have good light penetration.


edit- you guys need to clean those bird's nests up. When you start flowering you shoud have a little tree, with a a few nice fully developed branches, and nothign else. Get rid of that mess in there. Air can't move, the plant's immunity system gets compromised, and light will never make it through that mess. If you get bugs they will go nuts in there as well. Lastly you'll get crappy bud from that bushy bottom crap anyway, and lessen the quality, and yield of the top buds. Concentrate on the canopy, and jettison the mess.
