White widow, lambs breath, trans Siberian autos

Good Morning SN,
Glad you got your light/heat issue under control. Most people use more light then needed. You can grow good bud under as low as 30w/sf.

I've read that excessive heat can promote nutrient burn. The plant is transpiring like crazy trying to cool off top leaves...which pulls nutrients along with the water. Causing top leaf burn. That what happened?

I noticed one widow was really dark green leaves and looked a bit sick or droopy looking just before adding extra light . In morning time it looked ok though two days after adding light I noticed white on tips of new leaves on the other widow so yes I agree with you that’s what it was but also think was to much nutrients as well other plants seem ok so got a couple picky ones lol . I raised light as well a little higher to 36”. They are responding well and are starting to veg up now . I’ll ease back on nutrients only on every second water as I was following the feed chart on advanced nutrients for grow , micro, bloom ph balanced . I did half everything they said to do but not every second watering I was using every watering my bad. They say to use every watering but I don’t think it works on autos as I’ve found out . I’ll do some Sunday pics tomorrow you will notice big improvement in looks and growth now. At least I caught it right away could have been nasty and a good flush.

Here some pics

My ph pen arrived this morning I checked my water I’m using as it’s tap water at 7.7 I used a 4 litter jug used my ph down two drops from my aquarium supplies and the water read 6.8 . I’ll do another test with water from run off from dirt see what that is .

Ok so here are some pics at end of week 5 . They recovered from slight nutrients burn and are givinger now finally.

Hi SN,
You are expecting to get enough stretch to fill a screen? Never scrogged but it seems you're a little behind the curve.

Oh, and runoff measurements in soil won't give you much useful info. But I see guys testing it. Keep on truckin'...

No not trying to ScrOG I’ll be taking it down I just left it up after set up . I’d only do that if growing a reg plant as autos to small . Ya I was wondering about the ph on run off if it was worthwhile at all .

Ya, I saw that scrog screen...made me wonder. I suppose autos have lots of limitations. I sure like that they aren't finicky about light leaks...essentially a non-issue with autos.

About the only useful ph measurement with soil is to do a proper soil ph test before putting plants in.

In a serious overfeeding situation...soil runoff measurements will tell you what you already should know. It's just not a useful quantitative measurement.
Later,
JD

Few more pics lots of more growth

Do you think there’s a deficiency in my trans Siberian looks light colour on vains or is it normal or ok .others seem ok.

SoSe,
When you have fading between the veins...that can be Mg or K related When I enlarged the shot, there could be some light Mg deficiency there. Usually starts on lower leaves.

Your plants are growing faster then mine. Having a cold floor issue which is slowing things. JD

Ok I am giving them cal mag with every feeding one with nutrients then next with only ph d water. Any way you can raise your plants off floor that would work .

Sose,
On the Mg question...I wouldn't worry about it...more of a judgement call. Certainly nothing that will effect growth.

I added a layer of 2" rigid foam insulation underneath the plant trays yesterday. That bumped the floor temp reading from 61 to 66 degrees. That should help. Plus I'm turning the fan up a bit to minimize horizontal stratification.
Later,
JD

Looks like it’s starting to flower

I’m using advanced nutrients ph balanced micro 1ml grow 1 ml bloom 2ml in a 2 litter bottle when do I switch and what are the amounts it don’t seem to say just gives you how much for seedlings then for plants with 3 to 4 leaves then adult . Now it tells me to use 4 ml micro 4 ml grow 4ml bloom does this sound right . I am halfing there measurements on my figures.

SN,
When referring to a plant reaching adulthood...it's when the branches grow symmetrical rather then alternating. So you're using the whole ph balanced line? Never used AN or any bottled nutes, The 4 ml dosing regimen is what the bottle says and you're going half that?

That seems reasonable.
