White Widow vs. White Widow vs. White Widow

I was hoping for a little bit of advice concerning seed strains. Who has the best of a given variety? I have been interested in getting some White Widow but pictures don't tell the whole story plus Dutch Passion and Green House seeds use the same one (picture) on Attitude! Lol So yah from your experience who serves up the best phenos for a given pop-strain i.e. Northern Lights, G13, Diesel etc...?

Had a similar problem with ICE and Female Seeds/Royal Queen Seeds sharing a pic. Again, a great looking plant, but, what can I really expect to pop out of the ground?

If your after the real deal White Widow then you'll be wanting Black Widow from Mr Nice Seeds, the original in it's truest form. All other WW strains are a copy of this, Shantibaba is the original breeder and Mr Nice Seeds is his company, good luck finding it in stock though it's in very high demand as always, I'm still waiting to get it myself.

Hmm, I saw the Black Widow but thought it was a cross with Domino or something. Like I said its hard to shop with anecdotal information and questionable pictures. Well anyway, out of the others that are in stock more often which is the most appealing would you say? Are there any strains to steer clear of because of mis-representative sales info?

White widow is definetely not the best strain for A.F. i got the White widow & dutch passion blueberry growing & all thow i understand that the auto blue is a taller plant, it is also the most robust of the 2. Next grow will be la diva, auto dutch same as above & blueberry grapefruit.

Shark Shock is in stock and is a very good dependable strain too, a strong smelling & easy to grow plant that is basically the same thing as White Widow but with some SK#1 mixed in to it's genetic's for some much added oomph!! I'd stay clear of all of the GHSC gear as all their stuff is overhyped hermie guff tbh. Arjan is a master at marketing but he's no breeder.

OK very cool. Where do most of the "top-shelf" strains come out of? Or does every breeder usu. have one or two good ones and the rest is hype?

Just depends really in what your after as to what breeder to go with tbh if your after proper, good, solid and reliable "top shelf" genetics then Mr Nice Seeds is your breeder, as for the newer breeders that are around lately I'm still growing my way through what I can from where I can out of the top "shelf strains" so I'll have to get back to you. Though most of the Feminised seed only "breeders" are the pollen chuckers to avoid IMO.

I've grown GHS feminized White Widow and was very pleased with the result, great smoke. But if you want to use regular seeds, go for Mr Nice Black Widow. Just finished Mr Nice Mango Haze, love it! Superb daytime sativa.

I don't know about current stock, but I can definitely vouch for the Femaleseeds Ice I bought in 07. I grew some in 07, and the rest this year actually. I have to say, those bitches were awesome. Healthy as horses, big ass aggressive root balls, impressive yields, and crystally as fuck. I know I sound like a salesman here, but they were really that much better than everything else I grew.

The smoke was solid too, not overpoweringly strong but very relaxing.

The original Jack Herer AKA "jack" was breed by Sensi Seeds. Lots of other breeders seem to be offering their own version or crosses of it now.

What was the flower time on that mango haze??

this is the " not so white" pheno of the dp ww ,creeping high , great tolerance zero paranoia , seriusly the high may bring altitude shickness to the inexperianced , the 1st times u smoke that shit u wet ur pants , for the 1st hour sound is altered and u may feel the buzz of the alcohol , this shit gave me a new nick name among smokers that try this of me , "la bomba" and i so hated it cause its off the most hatefull player of basketball , apart from that , the pheno is ready in 52-56 days , more and u get couchlocking/sleepy/devastating effects , touchy to the feed but loves ca/mg and the rest of micronutrients apart from the sensitivenes in ferts its a sturdy and tolerant plant as u can see in the photos a severe mite infest is just a cosmetic flaw for her , in perfect conditions u got root sites in 5 days ,bushy , somewhat short , given a large deep container and good training will give a great bush , surelly can handle some leaf cut for better penetration as it is leafy , medium callyx size , hard to very hard nuggets that stink the place where they get crumbled , if u out of glue some bud may act like it and i mean its STICKY , if u like charas toasting ur head u should try it BUT when in flower its almost unditectable ,

its like an afghan with an ak47 caught in the spider web ...

Well thank you for all your kind help everyone. I am looking forward to trying some of that Black Widow when I can. The ICE and all super crystalline strains are so alluring simply for their beauty and I must have one or a couple for my fledgling collection if I can get quality stable strains. Sharks Breath, Blue Mystic, and Chemdawg are also on the top of my list.

I'm thinking I want to diversify the garden with 4+ strains that I can cycle using like 2-3 grafted moms (sound too complicated? comments and advice are welcome cuz' sometimes I tend to stretch practicality). Other than those, I am also highly interested in Nirvana's Blackberry, OG Kush, Trainwreck, several Herer crosses (Black Jack, Jock Horror, Royal Flush), and reputable decendants of G13(Mr. Nice's?), Northern Lights(KC Brains'?), Apollo 13(SubCool's Void?). On top of that a cliche lime-green, nuggety, pine-tasting, sativa that frames "Cronic" in my mind's eye would top is off. Exile, Eclipse, and Hash passion are also super sexy and after visiting Mr. Nice I think I might actually start with some Critical Mass or Master Kush x Skunk.

Of course with all these options I must use other factors than just pure sexiness to determine my choices.... I want that uplifting/non-cloudy/energetic but definately something to bust those bad vibes loose after a long day at work and then the GF's *wonderful* appreciation for all things me lol - it's late and I'm writing this on the couch (ahem) pipe near by. Disease and pest resistance is a goodly priority yet a pleasant aroma, well, is sexy.... NYC Diesel was the first strain I ever wanted to grow because of tales of it's grapefruit flavor and pungent funk. A good yeild is always a plus too.

I've thought about getting less stable crosses of some popular ones to try and secure multiple pheno's at once like X Line ICE x Grapefruit, Royal Flush, The Void, Critical Mass etc... All in all I would be very happy with something close to each of the following for a well rounded selection: a lemon/pine "Chron", a darker green super-smooth "Kush" (cuz the Jucy Blunt wrap flavor KUSH is really nice), an orangy sour/citrus "Diesel", a sweet purplish-blue "Berry Cough", and of course the crystal-dripping "Uber White" eye candy.

I'm sure there are others out there that I would love too so be sure to let my know! BTW what's the low down on Reserva Privada's offering? Got a "top five breeders" opinion?

Off topic but what kind of reflective covering is that youre using bonjo? I saw something like it awhile back and wondered how it stood up to mylar, panda plastic, and flat white KILZ

i enjoyed Jack The Ripper very much and The Third Dimension from TGA - very nice, rich foody smell and taste.. i have not done Black Widow, but i tried green house WW and had great results - it was the most prolific producer from all of the strains i have tried and a very nice smoke..

as long for the reflective material , i asked from the growshop about mylar and they got only this which is of plastic and on the other side some kind of aluminium foil , i dont know the name of it but its very strong and flexible and years after use it has no wear and tear in any side , i applied in a tent shape above the light fixture and holding it in /\ shape with sticks

Ive heard that Green house seeds now have the Original White Widow gentics

Female Seeds also has Black Widow. I have a seed, but haven't grown it yet. I also have a DP White Widow and a Dinafem White Widow. I am planning to grow all 3 together and compare them, but that won't be till fall. Next grow will be either Jack33 or C99, haven't decided which yet. Honestly, I'm more a Sativa girl. I do like to have some indicas to help me sleep, but I'm going to use my Pandora Autos for that once my current autos are done!

Third Dimension and Void are interesting to me because of their alleged relation to Apollo 13. What's the word on Apollo 13B? Is it reminiscent of the original apollo?

The potency, I'm sure, will likely astound from any plant with so much resin production, though I could be wrong. Many other strains also have a divine effect, but not as many can look so stunning! I am sorry to be so superficial but out of all the colors and characteristics that we have developed in this plant that single one is my favorite.

I personaly think its awsome that the space you have created for them is so simple. I was thinking about making another post about box designs but didn't want to wear the topic out -- anyways I was thinking about gutting an armoire if I can find one at a garage sale and doing a split, bottum/top, veg/flower sys. using a 400 HPS and flo's complete with a recirculating carbon scrubber vent and lung compartment... lol dream big and wirk backwards I geuss. Otherwise I am just gonna get the main components and make it work . Also thought about a corner box but think there would be shape related space issuses.Feng Sui work on plants? Hey I'm gonna try the music thing just for my own entertainment when I am near but hey if ambiance makes the plants happy then we are all happy too.

greenhouse is shit my buddy bought church,whitewidow and trainwreck from them and they were all poor genetics. I only grow b.c strains now. He even got them from a seedbank in person.
Greenhouse buds came out fluffy and loose with zero bagg appeal the widow looked like it would fall apart if you touched it. The only one that looked like real bud was the church. Im guessing the skunk genitics. The widow was nothing compared to the widow ive grown from seed even.
So ive heard is differnt then i know.
