Who else agrees that big box store nutrients are just fine

so my first grow I used MG with with good results, after I kinda got sucked into the hype of 20 bucks a quart "cannabis nutes". last year I get to thinking, u know, they're all just nutrients, NPK values, and more or less are composed of the same things, (beside the cannabis nutes being over priced with their fancy labels/packaging) Weed is just a plant. Why make it more complex than it needs to be? I see these nutrient threads pop up and figured Id say something. nutes are nutes, If your feeding your plants pre packaged nutrients, whether it be 20 dollar cannabis specific nutes or 8 dollar cheap box store nutes they will both provide your plant with the food they need, the difference is u will pay less at a box store, and the amount of nutes will last longer. And folks if you burn or overfeed your plants, don't blame the "cheap box store nute", because u probably fed too much. It seems to be that the big box synthetic nutes have higher concentrations of nutrients, so be careful how much you use. what Im getting at is, before you go out to the hydro store, to see all the products, and get convinced by the salesman that u need a bunch of shit u really don't, go to the home depot, or lowes, whatever, and look around, you should be able to find something that suits your needs, and isn't too overwhelming as far as feeding schedules

idk, imo, nutes are nutes pretty much.. just make sure you buy ones with a decent npk ratio, nothing too crazy, and use them as little as possible and you should get great results with any nutes, whether it's $500 advanced nutrients stuff, or some cheap jacks classic or w/e..
all nitrogen, potassium et al are pretty much the same identical molecule, regardless of nute brands..
my $.02

Well I was given the gh general organics line to try.. it's a great product I guess, one of the bottles smells like sushi and I wanna eat it, it allows veganic gardening..cool

but, it smells like shit. if you get the bloom on you for example even a shower won't remove the stench. gnats etc seem to love it. it doesnt stay in solution if premixed, and goes bad quickly. ummm I guess that's it, besides the many bottles and small amounts I have to drop..
not that big of a deal.. but its not adding mg till the water has a blue tinge, I just go by feel

I will say that I do believe in amending any soil.
even if it's just the root ball from your last crop, any organic matter you get in there is great. I do mix humus with mg soil and perlite. trace minerals and some ash as well. I like to water with a bit of molasses too, chelate some of that mg and what not

i just amended the soil for my so'cal bubba kush.. i bought some epsoma organic nutes.. one is blood meal, and one bone, and one is just an all purpose organic powder mix, and i had a lil bit of a bag of worm castings i had laying around i threw in the mix..
i have to say, that plant is looking super nice.. very green and lush.. being a bubba kush, it's a super slow vegger, which i've known from past bubba grows, but man, she does look super healthy..

and lol, yeah, organic nutes can stink no doubt.. i have a bottle of fish emulsion i used once in awhile, and just taking the lid off, i'm afraid i'm going to spill it, lol.. i can't even imagine the stink that would emit from that error..

i have a friend who used that g.o. box, she said she wasn't all that impressed with it, but that's about all i know about them..

I don't know what pros you refer.
the ones I will refrence grow on hundreds of acres. they tell me they would if cost allowed. most in the agribusiness have to find ways to fertilize sustainably. utilizing practices most of us would never see.

why don't you have a journal racer?

nope
I'll say most of my experience is with pecan and peaches in west tx..

grapes are big out here too, my family has a cattle ranch. met many in the area through that

grapes and tobacco I think should be referenced alot with weed, the soil plays such a role
