Ok so I'm looking for ideas to open my imagination up a bit.

What would you do with two 10x12 rooms right next to each other in a basement?

This is all assuming you're running a sealed room and 3,000w's in you're flower room, 1,000-1,400 in the veg room.

Would you need A/C even in the winter to cool this much heat or would a basement that's normally 55degrees just heat up to about 80-85 where plants feel comfortable with co2?

Would you run the co2 setup to cover both rooms? I'm looking to buy two used doors so I can cut my holes and run ducting between the rooms that way I don't need to find and paint new doors when I put the room back to stock.

How about venting most of the lights to the rest of the basement? possibly to the furnace ducting? I just hate the idea of cooling off this heat I could be using to heat my home. haha

Also looking to build a 5 gallon bucket drip system so if you have any ideas or tips on that feel free to share. I'm really interested in what you guys have to so please don't hold back any info.

Links to electrical wiring would be cool as well. I saw on craigslist a 30a circuit box that can handle 3,000w but it looks like it can do a lot more than just that. I'll find the link to the ad and post it, its pretty interesting.

I'm new to the forums, but it would seem that you're asking too broad of a question. Most of the information you are asking for is located within these forums. I would say utilize the search function and post a thread with specific questions after you've felt like you've read enough previous threads.

Rookie, how are you new to the forum however you seem to know all of my questions are answered in previous threads? It's a good hunch but good luck finding the one thread out of a thousand that actually has good info, as its not easy to find them. I've read hundreds of threads and you know what? There's a lot of bullshit out there to sift through. Thanks for the advice though, hopefully someone with real world experience with chime in. If not, it's ok, I know growers who would be more than happy to answer these "vague" questions in person with the only problem being their 1250 miles away right now, but I'm making the trip out west on the 1st so if you're legal get in contact with me, we might have some things in common to talk about :)

Honestly, the name of this thread is probably shying people away from it. It makes you seem like you're trying to gather info on people or something. Not saying that you are, but when I read the title, that's what popped in to my head immediately

i'd split one room so that 25% of it was used for veg/mothers under floros and the other 75% was used for veg.. i would either use 2 x 1000s, 3 x 600s or 5 x http://www.wormsway.com/detail.aspx?t=prod&sku=SSG104&AC=1... the thing about the floros are they are better than 400w HIDs, almost as good as 600s, and put off almost NO heat at all.. they can be kept on the plants and give amazing growth... if you use them you could have the mothers and clones on the perimeter and the main plants towards the middle... in fact you could do that either way.... the other room i would set up with 4 to 6 x 1000w hps for flower... this will give amazing coverage over the entire space of each room for the respective growth stage they are in..

i'd have all the lights air cooled and the heat exhausted elsewhere to keep heat down.. this should, based on the temp you said it normally is, keep it within ideal range all the time without the addition of a/c... if you can run it to your furnace duct that would work.. but remember the smell would then be blown throughout your house.. you may want to consider putting up a smaller "air cleaning room" that has a ozone generator or something in it to clean the air before being exhausted into your home ducting...

i wouldnt run CO2 if i could bring fresh air in from outside.. if the fresh air is not an option then i would at least co2 boost the veg room.. the flower room would more than likely be ok.. but if you can afford to boost 2 rooms that big then go for it..

the drip system would work well.. i would definitely stick to hydro for best results.. a good 3 part nute system with all the right additives will make for a happy harvest also... i'd veg for at least 60 days before flipping over to flower.. assuming you want to harvest all at once.. or, if you divide each room into 4 spaces you can have a staggered grow, so you harvest a smaller amount, but every 2 weeks or so...

Thanks for the detailed post SimpsonSampson420, it's greatly appreciated!

I have parrots, so ozone is out of the question. I definitely want to do a sealed room, with the lights being air cooled, intake from the basement and exhausted into the furnace ducting or back into the basement. However the rooms would be sealed between each other. I want to start with switchable 1000w's so I can move them from the veg room to the flower room when the time comes. Then add more lights as things progress.

I'm against the flouro's at this point. I just picked up a 400w MH with a 4ft t5 hydrofarm veg light for only $75 bucks! Probably the deal of the century. All I have to do is order a tempered piece of glass to slide in the 400w hood, plug off the vents, and cut holes for 6''fittings to air cool it!

You guys are right about the title though, I'm in need of a new title name. I did realize that after I re-read the title. The sour diesel must have messed with my better judgment last night, haha.

exhausting into the furnace would be ideal.. as long as you had an inline filter in the mix to scrub the air before it went into the furnace... i wouldnt recommend putting the exhaust into the basement.. it would raise temps and you could end up with heat issues as you start adding more and more lights...

the floros were just an out in case you were overly worried about heat.. i use them and they produce very well.. you can check them out in work in the youtube vid in my sig... i would use them myself in the flower room if they werent so damn expensive.. believe me, i understand about the cost issue.. thats why i am going with hps in my flower room..

if you use digital ballasts you can use either hps or mh bulbs without needing separate ballasts... or you can go with conversion bulbs, but you need a conversion ballast, and they are more expensive...

Ok, consider it dead! I'll rethink my thread title and get another thread up here in a while, I'm busy trying to finish up the final touches on a 2g eclipse turbo car that just received a fresh transplant. Once thats finished I'll be back here enjoying the place. :weed:

Thanks SimpsonSampson420 for the great advice, I thought the furnace was my best bet but it's always nice to have a second opinion.
