Well i mean they are all gonna probably be fairly expensive, i would check at your local head shops first.
The best my local headshops carry is medicali and zob, a little further from me I mgiht could get my hands on an illadelph or a toro but they wouldnt have much selection, if any.. Plus what they have seems to be more expsensive then some things I have come across online.. I dunno, we'll see I might go local..

Anyone heard of G-Spot bongs?
I just purchased one for my husband and a few people on RIU said they are pretty nice. Check the link and scroll to the bottom of the page and check out the video of a guy pounding nails in to some wood with the bong. Pretty neat.

Asking who makes the best glass, is like saying who gives the best blow job, or who is the best guitar player ever. It is all personal.
I have been seeing some great work coming out of Portland for a while now. Commercially speaking, Dream is nice. Rooster/Skinny Orange are nice to. There are all the classics of course, excepting, I am not a fan of Roor. I have had nothing but problems with them, and have had several friends with simular experiences. The dealer tride to make it right, but the same problems occured with the new piece. Lol, Roor is cool looking, and the idea is nice, but . . . they are shit for longevity.

it's ALL the same glass. COE33. it's the same stuff pyrex is made out of. just like anything else though you can get different qualities. once you use "quality glass" and anneal it properly it's all the same. one glass will NOT be stronger than the other. speaking quality that is. that cheap china stuff is garbage.

German, Pyrex, Soft, Hard, Phosporus, Natural, Meteorite, Sodalime, dichroic, rare earths(of hundreds of kinds plus gold & silver fumed glass), Float, Crystal, Lead Crystal etc. etc. etc. Shit.

if it's a bong it's COE33 and it's all the same. they don't make bongs with soft glass. they don't make bongs with Lead Crystal. bongs and pipes are made with borosilicate. it's ALL THE SAME.
you aren't getting anything more than a sticker when you pay an extra $200 for a ROOR. sorry.
there is NO such things as "Super Glass".

Agreed. Roor is just payin for the label on the tube.
I kind of feel the same way about illadelph and all the others.
The only reason i stand behind illadelph so much is because i have 2 of them and have had them for a couple years now and ive not ever had one problem with either one of them.
what kind of "problem" can you have with a bong over a 2 year period?
i just find it funny, all these "claims" people have about buying OVERPRICED glass. somehow they feel it's "better".

female piece breaks when pulling out downstem... i have seen it happen time and time again
Perc inside the tube breaks because of the pressure the suction is causing.... yep seen it happen
Bottom gets blown out due to excesive heat... yep seen it happen
Bong falls over on the ground and breaks... seen it happen, mines fallen but never broken
See alot of things can happen, cheaper bongs have a tendency to have more of these sorts of problems.

Ouch fdd, that sucks.. I know that for most things you are paying for a brand but some things such as a nice perc or properly diffused bong or just little things like Michael named some brands are better for.. I suppose I will stick with medicali or maybe zob as they seem very similar and are the best my local shops have to offer.

most roor's are just dumbasses paying for a name on a tube.
95% of roors I see are straight tube, with maybe some pinches for ice.
I don't see many illadelphs that way.
If I bought an illy, I'd be dropping serious coin on a godly pipe, not because it's got four letters down the side of the tube.
medicali's aren't better so much as they're flawless. everything that can go wrong does not go wrong.
