It's all good! I know that I am a noob and I came into this forum with an open mind, willing to accept ANY advice I can get (Unlike that girl in the forum about cutting off fan leaves, HAHA).
I have been reading many threads in regards to everything from, soil conditions - PH Levels - SCROG - Grow Cabinets, LST, etc. etc. etc. However, I did not know that tin foil had to be flat as now it is FULL of wrinkles from folding up the tarp... WHOOPS

Will it still do the job or should I really consider re-doing it? As I said earlier, this is my first grow and I am not looking for miracles, just bud! Although.... I do consider bud a miracle

I had seen other peoples' fabricated grow tents but I just didn't understand how they were sealing them to contain the smell? My tent is definitely NOT sealed, which is completely fine with me but I am just worried about it stinking too much!!

Well your in luck as I just came across this site (while searching for something else) that shows how to make a temporary greenhouse using pvc and white painters plastic,,,,here is the link,

http://www.ehow.com/how_5301857_overwinter-plants-temporary-greenhouse.html

as to being sealed, while some will tell you to seal for light leaks, IMO this is not needed and you do not want it sealed for ventilation, what you want is proper extraction thru a carbon scrubber to control smell and that pulls fresh air in thru openings towards the bottom of the tent, which in turn causes the air in the tent to be replentished constantly

hope that helps

Thanks riddleme, for the help and for the link. Sorry we started off on the wrong foot.

Cheers!

Oh, I almost forgot...

I currently have a fan inside of the tent blowing towards the plants, and an "exhaust" (90 degree PVC elbow) at the top of the tent. Will there be enough fresh air coming into the tent from it only being sealed with velcro or should I fab up another 90 degree elbow at the bottom of the tent (or something similar)?

How much heat does a 250w HPS produce? Can it be takin care of by basic household fans? Also I like to veg my plants to about 3ft and tie them down to flower, would I get away with 3-4 plants that size under the 250?

No problem

also be aware that if you vent the tent into the room it is in (instead of outside) that it can/will raise the ambient temps in the room

is there an extraction fan on the elbow? there should be!

IMO you should not have more than 2 plants that size under a 250 watter

there is not a lot of heat to deal with when using a 250

No, I don't have an extraction fan. I was hoping that the fan at the bottom of the tent would be enough to force the warm air out of the tent.

In regards to the rooms' ambient temp:

I currently have my tent set up in my garage. The garage has it's own furnace and I have the furnace set to about 5 degrees C (41 F). Do you think I will still have problems with the ambient temperature rising too much?

Just to note: I do know that the tent I set-up is FAR from perfect as I decided to build it on Wednesday morning and it was finished Wednesday evening. I am also aware that I should be using an extraction fan, or inline fan, but I am trying to spend as little $ as possible. Having said that, my main goal is to grow some decent plants that produce a fair amount of product, so I will do what I need to do to have healthy plants.

Those temps in your garage sound fine, you should be ok

and good for you doing what is needed, and there are ways to do it while saving $$$ lot of good DIY projects on this site

whats up everyone i have a question!
I Have a plant growing. (got seed from regular batch of schwag,,)
its already in the flowering stage doing good, very green and a skunky smell
the only problem is the yield. it looks to be rather minimum, very small buds..
is there anyway to increase the density of my buds?

im growing in a 3x4 closet Mylar Covered
fan blowing 24/7
400w HPS grow light, 10in away from tops
using a 5-15-14 nute every other watering
here are some pics (top view, eye level, bud top, bud thickness)

One Watt of current draw (Volts X Amps) = 3.413 BTU/Hr. So 250w = 853 BTU/Hr. Assuming a 2.5 amp draw in the room and a 75* source Ambient temp then the Minimum Ventilation Required = 172CFM.

Here They Are,
PS. THEY WERE TAKEN Y A PHONE CAMERA
Ok I'm guessing that they are 3 to 5 weeks into flowering?

Your first mistake was trimming the bottom, removing fan leaves that could have retained more energy for bud production

second problem is there is a bit of heat/moisture stress happening as evidenced by the leaves standing up in pic 2, they should be relaxed not errect

advise you learn how to put the plant into overdrive to compensate (covered in my Calling All Noob Growers thread)

and keep in mind that it is showing mostly sativia traits which means that a) it will take longer to finish and b) if I'm right on where your at in flowering it is pretty normal (only a problem if your like say in week 9 of flowering)
