Who Out There Uses An Ebb And Grow System?

Is there anyone out there using this hydroponic set-up?

Hey EK, I like the looks of your set up. Do they stay in those cups through there entirety? How large is your Res.? It looks like you get eight plants per site, how many trays can you supply with 1 Res? Well what I am trying to accomplish this week is... Have 48 buckets, 4 30 gallon Res, 4 control buckets all powered off of one timer...I bought a pre-built ebb n grow set-up, and am now wanting to expand, and convert to a SOG cycle. So I want to use what I already have, and expand it correctly..Got any suggestions?

i actually had to switch them over to mesh pots but the cups worked well for a good 6 weeks before root bound kicked in. the res is 10 gals 3/30min waterings a day. i use one res per trey just because the plants use up the water very quickly when they grow bigger.

Okay okay, as you can see this is my first post and i am a super noob in the art of growing hydroponically. Now i grew a plant a few months ago with soil, and it grew pretty well under it died, mainly because my light wasnt that great, and i wasnt really serious about the whole thing . but now ive been doing alot of research and im just about ready to build something.

i have only a few ?'s:
I want a system in a closet about 8'x8' with a sytem at least 3'x3'...

1.what kind of lights, and how many lights would be best?

2.I have every meter that i have read about, from ph to ppm... what is a good recipe of nutrients? brand names would be wonderful..

3. now i see these nice lil set ups with exhaust fans and air ducts and all that jazz... ive never seen any closet of that magnitude. i have just a standard closet, ::no luxuries:: would i have to build one, or would a fan and maybe a dehumidifier be just fine?

but basically...a 3 x 3 area...9 sq ft..is perfect for a 400 watt hps lamp.

you will need to ventilate heat OUT and have air coming in..and this doesn't mean leaving the closet door ajar. Your bloom area MUST be 100% light tight/dark.

humidity shouldn't be that much of an issue if you move the PROPER AMOUNT OF AIR through the space. (unless yer in the tropics)

nutes? Go with General Hydroponics Flora series and follow the label directions. More info can be had on their website about how to change the res/etc. ph levels...ppm levels...etc. (find the feeding charts on the site)

Ive read ALOT of books and seen the tapes but im a member of the green thumb-less society who needs something like a "Growing hydroponically for dummies" book. 0_o ...Theres no HYGRO HOBBY shop in my neck of the woods, so i wanna know everything i need so i dont have to fumble over my words when i go to collect the materials. (which is prolly gonna be at Home Depot)
