it's not a bad noob lite , but there are way better ways to spend less $$
the night stix work great for small grows so do not discount them
a few cheap power strips , some plug in sockets & then the 'Y' socket to dbbl the single socket & yer on yer way

This was my point. Mars and Vipar are not the best, most efficient light out there. But if you're looking to get into growing, they are both cheap, effective options. I'm not even trying to say an LED and outgrow an HID yield-wise. In all honesty, some do if they are higher quality, but economy line is hit and miss; however it will keep your bills low while giving you a large yield (bigger than what you'd get from your old CFL setups, maybe 70% of what HIDs will get you) and giving you the same exact quality.

Exactly. Viparspectra, whoever they are, are claiming 60% efficiency on a $149 200W light.
This is what is called, to use the technical term, "complete fucking horseshit". A lie designed to part fools from what little money they have.
And @Olive Drab Green, if you cared more about learning and less about calling people retarded, this could have gone a very different way.
I have no idea how efficient these cheap Chinese lights are, but I goddamned well know how efficient they aren't.

I have 184 tw of half hi half low k CFL setup as side lighting. I wasn't so much as interested in buying that light do much as how he expected to sell it lol I have a curious mind. Lol mars unit you are talking about is it that 80 dollar rig. Basically she don't know I'm buying any more stuff so if I get caught lol I'm looking get away with just a citation rather than jail time lol

, on row 3 about 5 diodes in still lites up the panel soo it not dead yet
1 fucking run & i got a burnt diode , they will sit on my garage sale table real soon
the burnt mars900 is gonna be going under a Realstyles attitude adjustment ( I can't sell a defective unit )
not cool to pass on shit to a innoce noob

That'd be about right, yeah. COBs are the way to go. I'm going to get a T1-2100 at the end of this month and take this other Vipar to the collective house to join the other one.
Honestly, man, if you get caught, it ain't gonna be a simple citation. You'll probably have to deal with it in court, and you may get jailtime. Bottom line, just don't tell anyone. But this is another reason not to use HIDs, (in my opinion, so I don't get fucking lynched by people here), because you ever hear those news stories where people get busted because snow's melting off their roof? Well, if you don't want to pay extra for a cooltube and for extra electricity for the AC, that is a possibility for you.

Like, HIDs will leave hotspots that can be seen through FLIR if the police get the warrant to use it (pretty sure they need a warrant now.)

I can at the very least guarantee you, if you're just growing for yourself and you veg for 3 weeks to a month and a half, you'll get what you need. If you want to deal (I don't get into that), either veg longer or get a higher powered light.
