How do you figure an HPS can be put closer to the canopy? Can you put a 400w HPS 6" from your plants without burning them?

Anyway, so, what bracket of HID would you put 420 mmols at 24" or 675 mmols at 18" from at? Like, what kind of HID would put out that kind of light? Because my LED puts out that kind of light.

The only thing I've claimed is that Viparspectra has no website, and makes provably false claims, while you continue to insist that your "400W equivalent" $149 light is 60% efficient.
This would put you at about .15g-18g/W if it actually was a 400W light. Assuming you are not a terrible grower, wouldn't you agree that is a light yield? Again, I'm not criticizing your growing, it's just very low even for a three week veg.
Maybe this will help you understand PPFD and the effect lenses have, so you can stop posting PPFD charts and quoting their center readings. Brought to you by a real company:

I apologized for the retard comment. I'm sorry for any ad hominem attacks, and I've been doing my best to avoid slinging more of them. And yes, my light is that efficient for $150 bucks. The company actually put effort into it, and I'm not saying that to be a dick. And I understand PPFD just fine. It does have a website, I just have to find the pamphlet. And the claims aren't provably false, they are true.

You can't because of bleaching. You keep talking numbers but the weight isnt coming out at the end . You can only fill whatever space the light will cover . Leds dont cover much. And since they dont penetrate as well and are in all actuality weaker and not as bright.. cobs are a different story but Every other led wont compare to single ended hps .. get into talking about double ended and you're just blown completely out of the water. Those charts that most of those company's post are all fabricated information. Its just advertising. Leds are just way to underpowered, you save money because you're using less light. The results are also going to be much less because you're losing less light. In you're thread you were saying 3 ozs a piece you got a little over 2 all together. That's on par with a 2hundred watt light not a 4fifty and then you say you flipped at 9 inces that sounds normal to me and nessesary because leds dont penetrate to well... if you want to get the most out of your led find out how much space it covers fill that space with a short tight canopy and flip when its about 9 or ten inches.

It didn't come out because I veg'd 3 weeks from seed and only topped one plant, not to mention cutting one a week and a half to two weeks early. Respectfully, if you dropped your bias and took that into account, it'd add up.

You're a little bias yourself, I only say that because I have proven to you that hps can in fact be placed closer to the canopy, inches, therefore allowing it to without a doubt penetrate deeper then the leds that supposedly dont throw heat and can be placed closer to the canopy. Isnt funny how they do that they say" buy his it can be put closer because its not as hot" but they fail to tell people about the bleaching that will happen if you fly to close to the sun.. its really shady imo.

I have no reason to be biased, I was only misinformed. I'm getting a TastyLED at the end of this month because I'm moving this light to the building I have about 12 plants running in and want one to work on at home. I only spent $150 each and live off of a military pension, so I don't care about the money I spent. I have no reason to be biased about anything.
And LEDs don't bleach like you think. I've only had problems with bleaching with too much humidity. You're really behind if you believe that. Plus, wouldn't bleaching be a sign of overpenetration, meaning LED would be MORE penetrating than HID? I'd think so.

Leds do bleach like I think if theyre to close they will bleach it. I can get hps inches away and if youre talking about a 4hundred the plant can actually be touching the glass and nothing will happen. Ive seen albino bleached buds growing with my own eyes and it looks nasty.
Hear those tastys are bad ass, thats a great buy.

I had my LED about.. Meh.. 3 or 4 inches before chopping for about a week or so. My 500w BlackStar never even bleached unless it was humid, and that's an American LED company, to my knowledge.

No, keep the MH for veg and the HPS for bloom. You don't HAVE to, but the red for bloom and blue for veg is most optimal.

No it only bleaches the top nugs closest to the light it just ruins the main heads.

Oh, nugs? Now that you mention it, I suppose you're right, but I was under the impression that was when UV was included? I suppose the IR might be able to as well.
