Awesome! Absolutely agreed, cured buds are just like fine cigar tobacco, better flavor, texture, color and more! I dry the colas for 2-3 weeks achieve 60-65% rh, then, trim some more (barely) leaving sugar leaves covered in trichomes. I find after the rh is constant between 60-65% adding a 62% humidipak to the jar, keeps them perfect. The bud will keep evolving, improving in flavor, color and texture within this range. I have tried to cure longer than 3 months, but have not made it so far, I always share it or smoke it up.
And the first post is sorta mis informed IMO cause primo must be premium going into the cure and must be cured correctly or it's something else....
Not primo. Cause primo is virtually flawless end to end along the process continuum. It's checking all the boxes. Every single process.... Including the drying and cure..with A's or A+

Sorry I’ve just read it back and it does read bad haha. I just meant it doesn’t matter whether it’s synthetics or organics, canna or gh, the most important thing is keeping the plant healthy. But if the plant is kept healthy the full time and is in good condition then drying and curing properly makes the biggest difference as opposed to not drying and curing properly

I only grow from seed. Usually never the same strain twice. Except for one. I have my second pineapple express going right now
Cuts and known entity is important especially in regards to Terps and taste....
. No doubt some seeds can get close to the real thing but a cut is a cut is the cultivator in and of itself. Full stop.
I've made some GDP cross seeds that are truly amazing but each are slightly different...
Seeds are always something else to one degree or another.
Like apple seeds.... That's why apple orchard is made from the same single tree... So they all taste alike
I breed and you'll be surprised how many plants I throw away to find something special. Hundreds yearly.... And I'm a little small fry...

I'm a recent convert to Grove Bags too. Love the fact that you don't have to 'burp' them and that they hold a good quantity in a convenient package. I find that storing Ball jars once you've got a bunch is just a pain in the ass. My most recent Durban came out really well without spending too much time micro-managing the humidity for the cure, and I handed off a few oz. to friends for a quality check and all reports were overwhelmingly positive.

You are absolutely right about jars...I didn't know how much I hated messing around with jars until I started using the bags. Now I have my huge plastic tote full of ball jars in my shed. They are definitely one of the best new cannabis industry inventions. I actually just vaped a strong chem fam cross that has been in grove bags for a month or so now, and the sour/chem terps came through just beautifully....and this batch was dried between 70-80 degrees and around 50% humidity, definitely not optimal. I really love how the bags preserve the sour terps so well.

As for all the nonsense about black ash or white ash. It has nothing to do with organic or synthetic nutrients, flushing the nutes out of the buds, etc... That's just stupid stoner broscience. It's amazing people still repeat that crap. So many cannabis growers just keep repeating the same junk science that's been floating around. People with any actual science based knowledge just laugh at all the silly stuff so many cannabis growers do and believe.

Yeah, my drying on the Durban was a little off...I let it go too long though I did it @65-70F degrees and at 60% humidity. It dried down to about 55% and has mostly stayed there since but that didn't stop the cure. I tested some before bagging and it was expectedly harsh and fresh tasting. After 3 weeks it noticeably smoothed and tasted better, and now a few weeks further down the line is really nice.
I'm always a little timid to share whatever new grow with people, but now have a handful of friends who jump at the offer and area also honest with feedback. Though I also let them know my honest opinion and how I think it turned out ahead of time. I grow because I like to not to sell or anything, and I share because I want the feedback. Also, people who like cannabis rarely turn down gifts like that.
And jars just kind of suck. You either have to put them in boxes or find a dark shelf and then quart sized only hold so much, etc. and you need to fuss out the stuff that ends up kind of packed at the bottoms, etc.

How do you pheno hunt hundreds of plants in this professional grow setup?
Do you often run 4 seeds in a single solo cup? Is that how you purge “hundreds” of plants yearly? You’re counting seedlings that don’t make it? Lmao.
Outside troll... Just cause you don't believe it isn't so is irrelevant. Outdoors sometimes five or six plants per pot... I've done projects in both environments
I usually start the selection process in later veg when I can start to determine pheno traits. Then narrow it down towards the end. Most of my breeding these days are with clones although I still Pop plenty of seed prospects also.
What other narratives can I clear up for you..
Big one's are pre 98 Bubba Kush clones...

I hang dry (about a week) until outer crispiness starts. If it's particularly dry I'll pull a bag up over and let it hang like that for 24 hrs and then continue the open air hang dry. Once it's close to the right moisture I do the final trim and put in open trays. The trays will still allow for evaporation but very slowly with no air currents. Depending on the humidity it can take 2-4 weeks until the buds are exactly like I like them. If it's very humid I may use a fan to speed it up. If it's very dry I'll use lids off and on.
Nugs are hard but still yield under pressure without crumbling. Total time is 3-5 weeks which does a good job at mellowing it out and it will continue to mellow when sealed with no chance of contamination.
I'm not sure I want dank dank DANK weed. Just dank is cool with me. The aging process does mellow it out but doesn't increase potency... although I do think weed that's too dry burns hotter and more THC is lost to the burn.
