Funny how all these 'knock-off' companies are adding cool dimmers and controllers to their units. Along with improve their designs constantly. It seems these 'knock-off' companies are ahead of the real real.
Hlg have had potentiometers on their drivers for dimming for years and all of their plug and play lights like the 550 have had dimmers on them for years. What are you even talking about?

What do you mean what am I talking about? I was speaking plain English.

I guess I'll just copy/paste what I said: "adding cool dimmers and controllers to their units". Not a $1 Potentiometer. nothing 'cool' about that.

Anyways, it doesn't matter. YOU continue supporting a company because you like them and I'll continue buying my stuff at less then half the price. And if/when it dies I'll just buy another, new and improved one, again, for less than half the price. I have no issue buying cheap. esp. when it comes to led lights. tech is moving so fast that in 2 years tech has already passed the light up.

Also, didn't HLG come out with a 550 model that is the same as their other 550 but this newer one only comes with a 1yr warranty? That's a little concerning.

That's what I'm talking about..

I switched from HPS/MH to HLG 550V2 Rspecs and I'm seeing more resin production, stronger smells, and bigger buds. The one on the right is the older model without the dimmer knob and the crappier metallic red finished heat sink that shows machining marks. The one on the left is the newest revision that has a dimmer knob and a much much nicer and what appears to be sturdier heat sink with a matte red finish. I wish I had two of the new ones but it is what it is.

The trick to HLG is waiting for them to come on sale. I got 20% off for 420 on the new one and about the same off for the older one for Black Friday.
