Anyone who's using straight tap water I'd like to know your ph and ppm right out of the tap, type of system your running, and if you've had any problems (ph fluxuation, nute lock out). Thanks.

That depends on where you live. Water out of the tap will differ from region to region. Never had nute lock out from tap water, and my pH always comes out at 7.0 - 7.2.

My tap water runs 9.5 ph and 650 ppm. This shit is like liquid calcium. I'm plaining on starting a ebb & flow setup using GH hard water nutes after the holidays. Will the calcium build up on the hydrotron and throw the ph all outta wack? First time hydro ya know. Been using this water for my soil grow for about 6-7 years now with no problem.

my tap is 0.5ec and 8.5 ph i su to run soil now im in hydro for the first time ebb and flow and dwc,so far no problems i have plants in dwc with alot of o2 pumped and they are flowering much faster than the ebb and flow same clones, about your question it depends what u have in your water i even add calcium in mine and topoff the rez. with tap water and had no problems with it,these plants use alot of Ca,and about the ph fluctuations the way i got it from this thread is the CA and Mg keep it stable so its easyer to controle than RO water so now i dont even use my RO filter, il post pics tomorow of my setup if your intrested in SOG

Panta,
Read that thread about 2 weeks ago but thanks, that's why I don't want to use RO water. I get CHUNKS of cacium build up in my faucets every year so I think I'm good on that. Gotta link to your grow? Would love to see it.

My last two grows were with tap water left sitting for 24 hours. Water is pretty hard in my area, but did not have any problems at all with it. 8.0 PH from the tap on most days. Once nutes were added, 7.0 PH was common.

I let it sit so that some of the chlorine could evap.

i used tap water in an ebb and flow. ppm was around 170 from tap witha ph of 7.5 or so. Had a small mg def. but it was taken of with cal mag additive on GH flora nova 1 part nutes. worked well.

If u plan on using regular nutes look into Envy A & B Nutes.. they are made just for tap water.. When used correctly it lowers PH exactly where u want it and changes very very little. I never adjust my ph now thanks to Envy nutes. My PH starts at 6.2-6.9 and ppm 250-400. I have great tap water.

good idea man. plug the overflow and drain holes then buy a lid or make one and cut a bunch holes in it. may as well just put the same amount of clones in the hydroton though. i liked ebb and flow. pretty much set it and forget it. I only changed res once every two weeks so other than that it was just sit and admire. lol
