Hi all, this is my second grow.I've just harvested my crop of ten white widow that had been drying for a week and i've only got 16 ounces off of all of them.I'm well p***** off!!
I grew them all from seed by dutch passion(double the price of the cheese seeds i had on my first grow) in a 7ft by 4ft by 6ft grow tent under 2 x 600 watt air cooled lights of which i used MH bulbs for veg and HPS bulbs for flowering. The tent has excellent ventilation in and out(6inch fans)and is being supplied with fresh air from outside,I've also got four 15 inch fans in each corner of the tent circulating air around the tent. For the first three weeks of the grow they were in six inch pots and then I transplanted them into 18 litre pots in a premixed Dutch growing medium with extra perlite and clay pebbles at the bottom for drainage. The temperature in the tent ranges from 78 to 86 degrees fahrenheit and the RH is usually around the 45% mark but often goes up to 75% after watering.I germinated them under a 6 tube flourescent grow light and after two weeks put the ten of them under one of the main lights only until they got bigger.I vegged them for six weeks until they started to show their sex.I used Biogrow veg nutes right up until 2 weeks into flower and then added the flowering nutes on top as per the manufacturers chart but at half strength first and then building up to the correct amount.I pruned away the bottom leaves two weeks into flower and i also topped a couple of them which did increase the yield very slightly on those two only.I let the plants go to nine weeks flower until the trichomes were cloudy and then harvested.I dried them in another grow tent in the dark at 75 degrees fahrenheit with two small fans circulating the air.I only had one drama with an overnuting about 4 weeks into the grow which made the leaves look like claws but other than that i thought i'd done everything right.
My first grow was under exactly the same conditions but i grew 20 cheese plants of which my yield was only 18 ounces in total.
I keep reading on the forums that some growers are getting unbelievable yields of up to 16oz per plant so i can't work out where i'm going wrong.I was really optimistic about this second grow,i thought I'd go for a renowned seed bank with a plant that had an excellent reputation.Where the f*** am i going wrong,I'm totally disheartened?
Can any experienced grower out there give me some advice for increasing my yield or tell me where i'm going wrong.
