Why are my cotyledons yellowing early?

So my girls are 9 days old, I started them in peat pots with old junk soil while I was waiting for my ffof to get here, so I transplanted s soon as I got my good soil, and I don' think my roots have fully grown into it. But my cotyledons are yellowing, I feel like it' way too soon.. have fed no nutes, had signs of heat stressa couple days ago, and I resolved that.. I'm sure everything is ok, but my question is, are they yellowing too soon, and if it is an issue how can I correct it?. Currently under 168w 6500k cfl. Watering with phd (6.5) filtered (brita) tap water. Transplanted yesterday to ffof.

Could be from the heat stress. Could be that your particular strain is using up the nutrients in the cotyledons fast. Could be from the "junk soil" you started in.

The rest of your plant looks fine. I wouldnt worry too much about it.

They'e just bagseed. But thanks for the advice, this is my 2nd grow with the same problem, so my bet is its the soil

So would a weak dose, like 1\8 strength of fox farms big bloom be OK to promote root growth into my ffof soil? It' 0-0.5-0.7 and says it' safe for seedlings and rooting clones. the feed chart on the website says I could do 4 tsp per gal. For seedlings, but their feed chart isn' specific for ffof soil which I know shouldn't' need nutes for 4 weeks. I' thinking a little bit might help get them roots into the good ffof soil

If you're in FFOF you don't need to feed anything to those seedlings. I've had similar issues starting seedlings in that soil. It's too hot. It's good soil I just found it to be too much for starting seedlings. I still use it but I cut it 50/50 with Bionix #1. Just did a tray of seedlings using the 50/50 mix and they all look great.

I would just give plain water. That's all it needs for now. Adding more nutrients will just cause more problems. The plant should start getting better as it gets bigger.

Indeed, I didn't start them in the ffof just transplanted them into it on saturday.. I did give a super weak dose ( 1 tsp to a gal) of big bloom the day before yesterday and defiantly feel like it helped get them roots into the ffof, because she exploded in growth over 1 day. but as for nutes there won't be anymore for the suggested 4 weeks.. :) thanks for the info guys

One more new question... on the girl with the yellowing cotyledons I noticed thismorning little yellow dots all over it.. think maybe I spashed water on her n got some sunburn? Or is this starting to look like like a Problem.. 2 weeks old today, 170w cfl, ffof soil ,no nutes but 1\8 strength ff big bloom after transplant, water steady at 6.5
