Why are my plants growing all twisted?

I've got 4 plants about 2 weeks old and they are growing in a really weird way.
This is my first time under CMH, and I'm not a very good grower, even when I do everything right it will go wrong somehow..

Dwc 25litre buckets
Nute GH series, calmag, silicon.
Ec 1.0
Ph 5.6-5.9
Under cmh 315w @ 12 inches distance
Water temp around 20°c

I'm wondering if this is a light issue, is my light too close? Or could it be the reflective material under the plants? I put that there to stop my buckets heating up, but maybe it's too intense for them?
There is orange spots on some leaves which points toward a nutrient problem too, is an ec of 1.0 too high at this stage?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I think you may be frying them with the lights. Try moving the lights back and see how they do.

How high is the water level in the dwc? Are they getting plenty of DO? 12” from light seems close for now.

I've moved the lights up to the top of the tent, so I'll see if that makes a difference.

I've never seen leaves twisted like this, even trawling Google images I can't find any that look similar. I was wondering if it was a genetic thing, but they are 4 different strains.

The water level is just under the net pots, I've got a hailea v60 running 8 buckets, there's plenty of oxygen to go around!

Crazy ph swings can do that. I had bacteria growing in my foam tube diffusers cause something like that also. I bet backing off the light will tell you something

If a CMH is anything like a HPS then Blake may be on to something. If not then....

How does you root zone look? Roots okay?

1EC = 500ppm? That range should be okay.

What is the Room Temperature and Humidity?

Ph swing could be something, my tap water is 7.5, and it takes a good squirt of pH down to get it to stay down around 6ish, it usually rises back up to 7 and needs another few drops to get it down again

Room temp is around 22°c, 57%rh.

Roots look fine, white and clean, no brown slime or funky smells.

Are you using tap water?
What's the waters ppm? Before nutes.

Looks like ppms too high TBH.

Have you tried lowering your ppms, at all??

When did it start?
Did it start directly after adding more nutrients?

Tap water, 250ppm before adding anything.

It's been like this since the start of veg.

What ppms did you use at the start of veg?
If you add calmag, that's the first thing to remove. Take it all away.

I started veg with 0.8ec (tap water is 0.6)

I've topped them up with ph 5.8 straight tap water today, and moved the light right up, so I'll see if it improves..

If any. Just a little a+b.
May want to get an analysis of your water too.
It's a little high, depending on what's in it.
Seeing as you're having a lot of trouble, keeping ph down. I'd be sus on added carbonates.
Wouldn't call it an emergency. But it's worth a check.
Most local, area government websites have the information freely available already.

Alright, so I've moved the lights up, I've got the ec down to 0.5-0.6 and PH at 5.8-5.9 across all 4 buckets, they have noticeably grown the last two days. So I'm going to keep it at this level for the next few days and take it from there, then begin to up the ec. I think I will leave the light at this height for now.

Don't forget to let the ph in your buckets, rise before you come and top them back off too.
Swings are very healthy.

When the ph rises to just under 6.5. Top it back off to 5.8.
