Why aren't more people using CO2?

I've always wondered why more growers don't use CO2. Many DWC growers are in small spaces and battle higher temps as a result. Using CO2 to help raise the temp ceiling in your environment is great. The other benefits are pretty obvious but this is one of the most under rated benefits of CO2 enrichment. In a small cabinet a 10lb cylinder will last a year. I've heard others say that the cost is prohibitive but for around 200$ your done, and for a small cabinet the cost is less than 25$ per year to keep it going. I'm really curious as to why people don't regard CO2 enrichment as a staple rather than a luxury. I can understand CFL and LED growers not using CO2 because they may not be able to achieve the required heat to utilize CO2 but beyond that I'm really curious. Please share your thoughts. Maybe more people do use it and just don't mention it.

it's just always seemed like more of an aggravation than it's worth to me.. things like flow meters, ppm readers and bottles and all of the other stuff needed along with it just seems like a pain in my arse to be honest..
and being a small time grower, it once again just doesn't seem to be worth the pay out for me.. in this heat of the summer though, it would really make sense to have it, but idk..

imo, it is hard to use co2 when trying to keep the smell to a minimum because you are filtering out the air so often.. another thought i have is an unattended burner that creates co2 just ups the risk of fire. also, people using an air cooled 1000 watt light shouldn't be over about 80 degrees anyhow.. another thing would be folks wanting to wait til their grow is mastered before spending more money. maybe once they do a few grows with no plant issues they will up the ante and add co2. adding co2 to a sick plant really does no good though..

Yeah, its a heat issue in small spaces. I've tried it and the only way to do it is with an air conditioner where you can recycle and cool the air along with the Co2.

The last thing I need in my small space is another canister of something, more wires, more tubes, more timers, more shit to run out of, more maintenance, something else to move when I rearrange or need to hide my shit if the heat is on... etc.

Growing indoor these days with cooltubes and the like, temps shouldn't be like they were 10+ years ago when we stuck a street light in the closet and aimed a box fan at it.

I don't get why people think over 80 is too hot my room never gets below 81 and the high is about 95 but average high is about 90 the only time plants show heat stress is when it gets 95+

Around the turn of the century (joking but true) we were using old parking lot lights with temps soaring into the low triple digits. A dried ounce barley fit into a freezer bag, no weight to anything.

I guess for me it works. I don't exhaust and cycle air because I can keep it closed by using the CO2. Yields are consistently higher than before I used it and the density is great. I use compressed CO2 and have only used burners on large scale setups, which I have no use for anymore.

U want it to be warm when u use co2,if its to cold plants dnt utilize co2 correctly the more co2 da warmer

Talk about high temps, my little greenhouse runs about 15° hotter then outside in the shade.
Yep, hot days, like around 100° is common. Highest I seen it was 114°

Ouch, my kids have never seen anything above 83. I got lucky with my space, everyone needs an unused wine cellar.

The only reason I don't use it is , would be jail bait bouncing about with a massive big cylinder imo ^^.

Maybe a co2 gen sometime down the line , however I hate running single electrical appliances , which are more than the actual wattage of all my light's combined

I'm willing to bet that those co2 gen's are just as bad as running a electric heater....(watt wise)(God I hate them)

C02 burners use very little electricity if any. Its just a gas burner.....

I might have to look into that , last i looked i'm sure the site said they where 2k watt's+ to run or something high enough to scare me away. ^^

Probably because it is expensive if you buy all the right parts. I spent 700 bones on my Titan Co2 controller, then another 80 for the can , 125 for the regulator and then the refills. After a while you can get good and just use timers to release the Co2.

I use a 20lb tank they arent that big.

You are probaly mistaking BTU output as watts. The only power they need is to light the automatic pilot light. Some have a standing pilot and require no electricity at all...now the big ass ones that are water cooled require electricity to run a circulation pump but nothing close to 2000 watts......

I have a very small grow room (it's more of a grow box...hydro tho...) and once a week I go up to the grocery store and buy a small block of dry ice put it on center shelf above plants and it's good to go, no need to worry about heat build up at all. I have 10 plants (all bag seed) and just flipped to flower yesterday (the 24th)...in about 7-10 days (if everything goes according to plan, which we all know never happens) I should be able to weed out the males making more room for the ladies. I have been topping, fimming, pinching, and tying down and with the nutes (DynaGrow and B'cuzzz Bloom) I'm using these are some GORGEOUS plants...I literally pushed the seed into pea gravel on june 16th, they sprouted the 17th, and now I have a 2.5-3" clearence for air circulation underneath and a thick luscious mat of green that is approx 7"-9" thick...wish me luck

Co2 is da ingredient people dnt talk about becuz its the catalyst from an average grower to a damn near professional! Ever wonder how da dutch grow fuken awsome buds with 400s and 600?co2!
