Would have to be a really big grow to get prison time here and its been decriminalised in the A.C.T and S.A for quiet some time. Just wish my state would adapt it or the Feds adapt it.

Highly regulated is not exactly the same as legal. The more people who grow the better. If enough people grew it would be impossible to monitor. Most who get busted these days have it on them when they commit some other crime. In my entire life I have never bought weed.

I agree.
Having went thru the drug war 80s something that surprises me is the people who will speak out these days. I’m not on FB but a friend has shown me several news stories on pot busts and the comments are surprising for being in a small southern town. It gives me hope to see folks support legal weed like that.

I have looked into this a lot. The real solution is affordable testing facilities so that growers and buyers can test the product they buy and not rely on the govt to regulate the herb

Those who want it illegal like big pharma and organized crime work together. Folks who want it legal do not. Many things can be done. Referendums are good even if they are not binding. Any city council can pass a resolution to prioritize crimes in terms of importance. Referendums are hard to ignore. Cannabis can be at the bottom. Any city government can determine what laws get the most attention and which don't Citizens can be taught about jury nullification. It doesn't matter what a judge says. Any juror can turn away a cannabis conviction and there is absolutely nothing a judge can do. There are ways to win but they are not through conventional channels. Cannabis users seem to be strictly into themselves and don't do things for then public good. So they get screwed over and over again.

Cannabis won't legalize itself. It takes efforts. How many laws ever get repealed? A handful over a number of decades get repealed.
Let politically powerful moneyed people legalize cannabis and you get 15% taxes and excessive regulations. It takes a while for the smoke to clear but the major benefits don't not go to users.

I agree that people should be able to grow a few plants at home. If the landlord says no in a rental situation then leave.

I remember going to Denver to check out a few dispensaries about 3 years ago. My "guide' was a 40 ish + Grateful Dead fan boy. The merchandise was shit. We stood around for a little while and he said only dicks would buy from most dispensaries.

For concentrate that is a different story.

You weren't going to the right ones in Denver. There are a few awesome ones.

I hear nothing buy complaints from med card holders in this state regarding dispensaries.
The latest being the big 5 producers are holding back all the top shelf to make oil.
Apparently they haven't yet figured out oil is a passing fancy, as everyone I know already switched back to flower.
Same med card holder then asked me for Bodhi strains, which dispensaries will never carry so long as Bodhi refuses to sellout; which hopefully is forever.
Our state is going recreational(from medical)in 90 days, and less than 10 dispensary applications have been submitted; smart investors are staying away.
As for the legalities of their bullshit economic laws, no jury in this country is going to convict anyone on smaller "illegal" grows.
Jury nullification was one reason Colorado legalized, at this point it is the equivalent of home brewing beer.
Such corrupt hypocrites our government is, 10 years ago they arrested me for a pipe and 2 grams; then fined me $1,500.
Now they are going to expunge that conviction, and of course keep the fine.
