Current rap music does often promote a superficial lust for wealth and status
in contrast some of the early hip hop mc's were not so aggressively about being an ultra poser

maybe that is because people did not have 60 inch televisions back in the 1980s and 90s to rap about ?

That Phonic kit in my avatar is mine and I can bang it out better than most. Had it 35 years now. I can whale on my Strat. and pump out on my BB1600. I don`t do audible,....I can`t sing. Or dance.

I'm sure you can. I'm just saying that rap does take skill. It doesn't create itself.

I'm probably a rarity. I like all music from classical to rap and everything in between.

Rap, country collaborations.

People are putting aside their differences. I think with a little more time, things will get better.

You're right maybe he has sold more albums then most maybe he has been the biggest rapper at one point( I didn't look so believing you) in many eyes he may be all mighty and great to me and others he sucks.

That`s correct. Used to be that profanity, violence and drugs were forbidden in the music business, .. but then Black people had that changed and so the kids are buying it all up.

I will never appreciate Gangsta Rap,...it`s totally non talented trash to me, but others, ...not so much.

The hard part is getting it recorded by promoters, not everyone can print 1,000,000 CD`s at home in a week.

I believe you are mistaken. I've hung out behind the scenes. Drugs have always been involved. Even in gospel. Lol.

People put their life in lyrics. Rap didn't start drugs and violence in music. Country, rock, metal all have violence and drugs in it.

I'm not going to argue this. You are prejudice and it shows.
