Why do leaves go yellow?

not sure really. but i was reading about how the leaves change during fall. i cant explain it all but check that out if you get some time.

they turn yellow towards the end of harvest because the plant is trying to use up all of it's stored food, and the first places it can be found is in the older fan leaves. They use this to build up the buds and form new bud leaves. So dont trip because its completely natural.

I used to freak out a bit when my plants started yellow at the end, thinking I must have neglected something or overfed or whatever. Took pics and posted em on Overgrow, and everyone starts all these suggestions, calcium deficiency, underwatering, overwatering, acidic soul, etc. Tried a whole bunch of shit to fix them, and just wasted time and money.
The plants just do that, can't keep your ladies a perfect lush green from start to finish.

the leaves start to yellow, because their getting old, and hopefully you have been flushing. The plant starts to use all the nutrients in all parts of the plants, chrolofyl starts to get used up and die, and the other colors of the leaves start to come out (same as trees) some nutrients take up to 25+ days to get used up.
leaves should be picked off when they are 60-70% dead, as at that point their wasting more energy than their producing.
