Why do my plants have seeds?

I am about seven weeks into flowering in a White Widow grow and I noticed that near the tops of all of the colas a few seeds are starting to show up.

I used Greenhouse feminized seeds for this grow and all ten turned out to be female with no male organs in sight on any plants.

Any ideas?

Look under every single bud for little male flowers. They have obviously already popped but they are there, You might find 1 little open male flower underneath a single bud, Look, you will find them.

The lights are off now, but I will check on them in the morning when the lights are back on. I never noticed any male flowers at all and then BAM! All of a sudden it seems like every single plant has a few seeds in the main colas.

You have hermies. Sorry man. The male flowers can be incredibly hard to spot, sometimes single male flowers will grow under 100% female looking buds. (happened to my last crop) I didnt notice till it was too late. Sounds like your in the same situation. Check the plants, lift buds, look between buds, but mostly right underneath the bud. They will have popped now, they are only like the size of your pinky fingernail, maybe smaller so they can be hard to spot.

Sorry bro, I know how you feel right now. It just happened to my last crop, They all got seeded, had to get some new genetics. :cuss:

Personally I hate feminized seeds, I wouldnt buy them and if I did I would only buy off of a reputable breeder, even then theres no guarantees you wont pop a hermie now and then. I would rather pull males then deal with a plant that might have a rececive hermie gene. Once you get a good female just clone that bitch.

Feminized seeds are produced by chemically inducing hermies in female plants. They use the pollen from said plant and self pollinate clones of the same pheno. That way there is no "cross breeding" and therefor you have only female genes, and feminized seeds.

Yes light stress can cause hermies, but there is 2 types of hermies. Stress induced hermies and genetic hermies, Some plants are born hermies (from seed) and you just cant change genetics.

yeah im thinking of studying the effects of light i was thinking to have a flouresnt fixture on a timer to come on a hour before sun up and have it go for an hour after sun down there fore creating the start of the day and the end of a day in light effects.i always wake up in the morening and its light outside but no sun and then when the sun goes down its natrauly bright out side with no sun but its not completely dark yet. the growing enviroment should be like a normal summer day. good growing every one. would stress induced hermaphadites produce good seeds? wouldnt it be natrual to light effects?

Why do your plants have seeds? Because they, like you, got fucked. You almost have to have a Mrs. Doubtfire in the group.

Dill,

Yes the seeds will be viable and if from a hermi they will be femenized as well.

good luck

if you get seeds from a hermie, you seeds will most likely be hermie too as they carry the hermie gene, feminization is more than just a hermie producing female pollen. Theres a lot more too it unless you want to produce more hermies
