why do people hate advanced nutrients?

AN works perfectly. High quality and good production on your plants. Just confusing and expensive. To many products gets complicated when trying to dial in a system. I ran a pretty good chunk of there line with great results just ended up going with something else that seemed much simpler, produces similar results, cost less and allows me to have a better understanding of what each item is that I am putting into my plants. It also never really made much sense to me to toss in a bunch of microbes and bacteria when I have been told some of there more non organic products will destroy a good microbial/organic root environment. I have discuessed with a couple people the possability of adding in say Overdrive with my current nuts but that it would kill the live cultures I work so hard to create. Maybe someone has better info and can share some insight.

It's kind of hard to not take offense when you label my post bullshit. I only stated that they are way over priced in comparison to products that are readily available but not marketed to cannabis growers. I don't doubt that you know big growers who use AN's products but nobody with commercial gardening or farming experience would ever pay those kinds of prices when comparable products are available for much, much less money. Probably 50% or more of the money that you give AN goes into their advertising and marketing fund so that they can tell you how good they are. I'm glad you grow killer buds but that has nothing to do with what I said.

GH has a 1 part grow and a 1 part bloom for their hydro. $15 bucks for 2.2lbs. I'd say that's not too shabby.

You're right that's not too bad. Fish emulsion costs me $9/gal and makes 256 gallons at a cost of 3.5 cents/gal. Which isn't too bad either. I am familiar with the product you are talking about and I believe you are using their maxi series of fertilizers. It is the cheapest line of products that they offer. It really isn't that much different than Miracle Grow.

i use only AN for hydro. sensi grow. conni/sensi for flower. experiment with their additives. always run overdrive and bud candy. usually piranha, tarantula. mess around with other stuff.

in soil i would run only voodoo, overdrive, nirvana, bud candy. now i do a tea and h&g 2 part.

i really didn't mean to offend you. i understand your argument. i do. but i'm not a commercial farmer or gardener. i'm trying to grow a specific plant to the maximum of it's potential. i'm also growing indoors and don't have to deal with the elements. the argument that "farmers" don't use all these chemicals doesn't equate. we're not commercial consumption farmers. i haven't seen too many commercial farmers using bat shit, worm poop, great white, rockwool, lumatek ballasts, etc...

My point about what commercial gardeners and farmers use is that they will use what works and is not too expensive. They also have the experience to know what the plant needs and are not swayed by marketing hype. Most people getting into growing have no knowledge of plants and so are in desperate need of easy, convenient solutions.The trouble that comes with that is that they don't really know what they need and they are easily fooled. Companies like AN, and just about any other company that produces fertilizers for cannabis, know that very well and market directly to inexperienced growers because they are vulnerable. You could never grow lettuce or any other ag. crop paying what it costs for cannabis style fertilizers. Only with an extremely valuable cash crop like cannabis and a pool of inexperienced customers could these companies charge the outrageous prices for their products. I am sure that AN and companies like them produce effective products, but they are not the only ones, just the most expensive by far.
