why do pitbulls get a vicious dog rep?

i think that statistical report is bullshit. purebred pitbulls are exceedingly rare. most 'pits' with no papers have been crossed with another bull breed somewhere down the line. pits are small agile dogs, not big headed beasts. pit mixes should account for more than the purebred.

True it could have been prevented but there aren't a lot of breads that would feel the need to attack like it did. I love all dogs but I've met enough Pit Bulls to know they are very physical dogs..
 
I been bite a shit ton by my lab then my pit fuck, my little dog patchies is more ferocious then any other dog I ever meet and ive been through shady parts of town and pit bulls never gave me shit ive been bit three times by dogs that are considered "family dogs"

good looking dog. mine don't know how to be mean; my male got his ass beat by a cat (had to go to the vet for stitches). just ran in circles screaming... lol.

also, apparently the pm's are linked with the likes; both disappear simultaneously.
 
They can kill a child or another dog in literally seconds. They were bred to fight, it's in their genes.

However, education is everything and my pitbull is a complete baby. When other dogs attack him he runs away. My German Shep was bad with other big dogs but was also totally school trained. My pit is a better dog due to this.

Unfortunately these breeds attract irresponsible owners and pitbull types are now banned in numerous countries. You should see the look of initial terror on the French tourists faces when they see him off lead!

Teenagers and young people seem particularly keen on the breed here and I've had loads of people stop to comment on his colour (blue). It's not unusual for the kids to start hugging him. I was talking to a Spanish mother the other day and she let her 2 & 6 year old take the lead and play with him. She was asking about him being a pit and it was lovely to see my dog change her mind about the breed. Whenever I tell people that the cat is the boss they just laugh.
 
RAP music gave pits a bad name.
Stupid kids raising pits to fight and bite then when they bite their kids they turn them loose in the streets.

I had rotts for years, great well trained dogs, never hurt anyone.
My home insurance review came up and they asked about what dogs I had.
I told them the truth, a week later they canceled my insurance.
Told me my dogs were a dangerous breed and to get rid of them if I wanted to re-new.
I told them to FUCK OFF!
 
Yeah my little dog patchies is a mini doberman pincher and HOLY FUCK she is aggressive for such a small animal my pitt on the other hand is vary calm and puts up with my little dogs bullshit lol and my pit goes out and gets squirrels and stuff for my little dog and my lab lol its like there a family and as iam typeing this patchies is clawing me and claiming her spot on my bed iam so scared :0
 
Personally, I think if a dog has a bad rep, the attention should be focused on how the owner abused the dog.

Stop giving people the benefit of the doubt over a dog that doesn't know any better.

There is no such thing as a bad dog! Just ignorant people who buy puppies and don't realize it's not an accesory. It's like a baby, you need to teach it everything, not just how to pee outside.

Pitbulls get a bad rep because every Tom, Dick, and Harry decides they want one. A lot of these people should be sterilized, not own a dog! Get my drift? I'm not talking about race, i'm talking about every idiot who wants one for ALL the wrong reasons(they look bad ass, or they think their 'hood', etc.)

Here's my story about pit bull owners(not all of you! I love pitbulls and have a Shepherd + Rotty)

Back when I had to do community service on the weekends they would pick me up in van. Said van would be filled with other degenerates, like myself. As soon as we passed someone walking a pitbull the van filled with 'Malibu's most wanted' retards would errupt! "Damn mane! Lok at dat pit! I got me like 4 of those mother fuckers!" "Damn, mines just got out and hit by car" "That's fudked up, mine had to be put to sleep", etc. etc. etc. This was almost every weekend in that terrible van, even though it was different people each week the same conversations would be had the moment a pit bull was passed.

For some reason the breed attracts the WORST type of people.
 
I think its because owners dont realize how much exercise and obedience trainning they need. Keep the dogs shut in the yard all week and maybe walk em once or twice. I trhink the bull breeds when well taken care of are the sweetest dogs ever, due to their muscular strong build but then so calm and playful. Like firnedly bears.
I find those crappy shitty rat looking dogs more agressive.
 
I've had pit bulls since I was in 9th grade...this is not a bad breed just misunderstood characteristics. These dogs need a firm owner who is willing to be in command at all times. Pits like to push the envelope until showed otherwise. Once you've showed them how things are gonna work it's literally your best buddy from there. Pits have energy so they need excessive exercise to keep that energy down, and just that alone completely changes how they act, opposed to keeping them cooped up all day. That goes for any dog though just not pits. You should see my dogs when they see a baby...they literally change there whole demeanor, like they can tell it's just a little baby. It's weird to see them become so gentle when they are just wrecking balls usually.image.jpg

I wouldn't get another breed personally, they do just fine in my household and actually my dogs have changed more than a few minds on how people view pits. Not to mention I truly think our dogs are a staple that holds my family together.

because 9 times out of 10 its a pit bull that attacks . you should see court cases about pit bulls the judge said im sick of hearing cases about pit bulls . and the police and dog catcher will take the time to catch every other dog safely alive except the pit bulls . they have orders to shoot or run over all loose pit bulls ! because the authorities get attacked to often from pit bulls. this is true for a lot of cities . they wont public announce they kill pit bulls but if you know the authorities you will know this is how its done for safety , so pit bulls did it to there self . but the problem is people that have a known aggressive dog and don't know how to keep it under control . so the owners are to blame and they get sued or get put into jail for bights . good luck pit bull owners . I know all about all breeds of dogs I own doggy day cares and yes I do take care of a few pit bulls which are big baby. but there are exceptions with every dog .
