So I'm thinking I'm gonna give it a whirl. It sounds pretty straight forward to me. I would think more people would go this route.
What I mean is it is apparently the most productive way to grow and it seems easy enough to do. Just wounding why more people don't go this route. It doesn't even seem like the majority grow this way.what do you mean lol, sorry for my ignorance but please explain this?
bingo! you can LST a plant to the point where unless you get under the canopy, you'd believe it was scrog'd. Ill be doing a side-by-side scrog vs LST(without scrog) for shits and gigs this go aroundPeople who don't use scrogs:
1. Perpetual growers, the pants don't veg long so don't fill the screen.
2. Good, comfortable LST'ers as they get just as good of results with proper LST
3. 12/12 from seeds, as there is no time to train plants.
4. Automatics as there is no time to train plants.
5. CFL growers adjust the lights to 1" inch off the shape the plant takes and scrogging would not help with this.
6. If you have enough light, or moving light, you wouldn't need a SCROG to ensure maximum coverage.
7. SOG growers
8. If you have enough plants to cover the area without a scrog.
9. Outdoor growers.
Other than those 9 circumstances, yeah scrog is best . Scrog is a useful LST tool, but its still just lst- and there is plenty of grow setups that wouldn't benefit from it all and would have a screen in the way the plants your dealing with.
Cheers
this does does perpetual and get's about a lb per plant!how would you incorporate a scrog into a perpetual grow? i think thats the main reason too much trouble and its a lot harder to maintain a scrog on a big scale or multiple scrogs.
Well, I grow for personal use and I harvest more than I can use. Since I have a strict no-selling policy, extra bud is given out to friends. I also like to take my plants out of the closet for examination and pruning, so why would I want to put any time and effort into scrog? What I mean is it is apparently the most productive way to grow and it seems easy enough to do. That's why I lst... I like to be able to move my plants around..Well, I grow for personal use and I harvest more than I can use.
