Why don’t they date seeds?

you're right I just pulled out my one pack from Ace and it has the date. Mine are 2020 - Malawi
 
The paperwork in each pack is dated 2021 so they can’t be too old and the tamper-proof packaging is impressive. One of the seeds sunk after 24 hours, planted them in Coast of Maine seed starter. Looking forward to comparing it to mine, never tried designer seeds before, or Coast of Maine.
 
If you harvest/shuck seeds before they are fully dry the thin brown skin with stripes sometimes slips off. Pressure test with fingers is usually all that is needed to seperate the immature from the skinned.
 
Packing date ain't harvest date. But then what about the fun seed sellers have in taking your money and sending you inert seeds? Maybe if you want them to sprout they can charge extra on top of the $100 for ten dead seeds.

I recently got burned this way by Newguy420 Seeds. Dead ones. but he took the money and doesn't answer emails.

You should start a thread with your experience there so others can chime in and relate.. It is good to warn others of bad seed sellers!

Mine did the same thing, that yellowing between the veins. Still came out righteous, tight buds that taste like mandarin oranges. Started Grandpas stash and Grandpas Cookies from some nasty looking white seeds but they look fine, lots of branches for clones.786DDA8C-4C7E-4A24-A7BE-24133FFD4C18.jpeg

he’s always been suspect. i wouldn’t try to order from him

Damn, I’ve only ever had one full pack fail, probably a skill issue as I was new but the seedbank replaced it. Stick with reputable distributors and professional breeders when you buying seeds
