Hey guys, opened my closet the other day and i noticed tiny seeds forming inside calyxs through my buds! and im due to pull them any day now-what a disaster!

calyxs were swelling up nicely, now i have calyxs splitting with tiny seeds forming inside all over the show.

Anyone had this problem before or know how it may have happened?

I dont have any males and as far as i can see the plants aren't hermi.

Also is this going to drastically effect potency?

Any comments would be great

thanx:peace:

how old is plant? over flowered plants turn herm if flowered to long or before they die as a last ditch effort to stay alive.also light leaks, poor enviroment, heat,or maybe herm genetics.a number of factors can cause herms especially stress, but all is not lost because now u have seeds that will not b males.

Can you definitely see the seeds or are they just filling with resin?
Yea they are definitely seeds,(tiny and undeveloped) top big nugs are filled with resin:mrgreen: just mainly the bottom half that has been affected. not to worry should make some good oil and hash anyway.

plant is just coming on 8weeks flower, there is 2 of them and they are both bout 5ft tall at the tip of the biggest crown.
i thought maybe over flowering could be the case but top crowns have yet to get more than 5% pistil death.

if stress can cause this that mite be the case as i had a ph problem 5 weeks into flower. and the genetics is unknown as the mother i cloned was from bag seed. dont think she has great genetics as i have previously grown afgani bubblegum and miteymite with amaizing results.

still the good stuff on her certainly packs a punch:mrgreen:

thanx 4 the advice guttdigga:peace:

I have exactly the same thing in a branch of one of my Nebulas I've just dried for sampling. Although there weren't too many and I could only see them by snipping a calyx in half.

No chance of actual seed stock (I wish) as the seeds are highly under-developed, tiny and soft. I think light leaks might have been my problem; although I've had no male flowers and used feminised seeds.

Thankfully it seems to only be one plant and the taste and potency are still great. Never can be sure with feminised seeds I guess.

Thanks DC, it's hard to know whether to chop right now... Really torn.

Calyx's are still swelling bigtime and many new sites pushing through. Trichs mostly cloudy but a little sparkle to them still, no amber colouring yet but some becoming distended and leaning.

Pistiles hitting maybe 50% for top colas, bottom nugs are over 70% and are the ones I've tested with the seeds. calyxs ver swollen on these bottom, seedy nugs. I'm hoping the top colas may be unaffected- Especially one that looks very wide and solid compared to the others and is formed a little differently.

Normally I would be fine to leave for another 10 days/week,... more. But these damn seeds are a bit of a worry, tiny though they are. I wish I'd timed this grow but flowering must be coming on for 60 days at least. Perhaps i've overshot it- the conditons and the strain are not my usual comfort zone.

I'm sure there's no time for the seeds to fully develop (damn) so I'm wondering how they'll affect the smoke if I leave them another week or two. The quality at this point does still look great, I just hate the popping of seeds in my Chilum and right now I'm just getting away with it.

I guess I'll grab a camera for some pics and whip off a few lower buds tonight.

Sorry for the rant, might be helpful to some other unfortunate.

I guess without a photo it's a hard call... working on that...
