I was recently diagnosed with a congenital disease of the brain, seeing as my symptoms only began shortly after my 30th birthday (I just turned 31). I was always an occasional cannabis smoker but I started smoking more frequently to help me cope with both the emotional stress of learning I have something for which there is no cure, and the pain. With this increase in frequency I have learned through friends that practically everyone is reluctant to put you in direct contact with their "dealers" and feel safer playing the role of middle-man, perfectly happy to pick-up and/or drop-off a baggie for you. While this arrangement worked when I was an "occasional" smoker it is not working now that I rely on it to merely get through my day. Writhing in pain, or being forced to deal with the horrible side-effects of those nasty pills the neurologists like to prescribe - by the boatload - all because I am waiting for when is most "convenient" for my friends, does very little for my quality of life, or outlook on it.
Which brings me to my point. I have decided to grow my own. I am not interested in starting any gardens or "growing operations" of any sort. In fact, I would be perfectly happy with one plant - assuming (since I know nothing about this stuff but currently go through roughly a 1/2 quarter bi-weekly) that one plant is sufficient for someone who smokes everyday (not joints, but through bongs and/or pipes). I have been doing as much research as I can tolerate each day (the strain of staring at anything for longer than say 1 hour at a time i.e. the computer/television screen; the glare from lights if driving at night; the glare from the sun if driving by day etc. limits me somewhat) but I must admit, despite the "beginner's guide to growing" or the "marijuana growing for dummies" type advise/tips out there, it is still very daunting. The extent of my plant growing experience came about by fluke when I threw a tamarind seed on a wet napkin some eight years ago. I paid it little to no attention and kept it moist on that paper towel for nearly a month before I transferred it to a run-of-the-mill pot with run-of-the-mill soil. It is now a small tree but it has not yielded any tamarind. Reading about the various stages of mairjuana growth (and it seems if you have no idea what stage you're in you'll have to "guess-timate" using online photos) the types of soil and light, and whether or not you have a male or female (again, no choice but to "guess"), PH levels, something called worm castings and other such grower jargon just further confuses and frustrates me. I plan to get my seeds from a seed bank, and they are described as "feminized" seeds - so this takes some of the "guess work" out (hopefully). What I want to know is, can I follow the same procedure I used to initially start the growth of the tamarind tree (naturally I will get the things that I know I will need for my marijuana plant i.e. a humidifier/de-humidifier etc.) or am I just setting myself up for failure?
