Why re-potting?

it also helps the plant grow a good dense root mass, if you put a plant in a huge pot to begin with, it takes it a long time to grow a good root system, it will sit there looking like its not doing anything for a week or more till it finally starts to grow above the ground again. if you let it just start to get root bound, then transplant into a bigger pot, the roots explode, and you get new growth above ground in a couple of days

I don't have experience with photos, that's why I'm asking. There's a lot of bro science around too. I guess I will go straight into final pot, so 15L of coco. Less messy.

How long should I veg photo plant to fill 80x80cm SCROG? If I fill SCROG, so 1cm above net, how much stretch I should expect with some indicas (has less stretch than sativas) or with some hybrids (less stretch than sativas too)?

With autos in 15L coco I can get that in 35-45 days.

There are the same 2 autos in 80x80cm tent...

I can’t answer how long as every Grow can be different with so many variables but in your system it would not make sense to transplant with the screen and all.

But it does seem to take longer for less roots when planted in the final pot in my experience.

But I grow individual bushes.

Really nice work by the way. Healthy and packed!

When plants are small they're susceptible to over watering, especially in a large container...for me a solo cup, 2 gallon plastic then five gallon fabric pot allows more control of soil moisture...I'm not saying straight to final pot is not doable, but the repot helps with avoiding saturation...g/l
I agree with you and let us not forget the added new soil with all those fresh good nutrients.:peace:

I have a different reason for doing it!
Although I do buy into the thing about faster drying out being better for root growth. An additional reason!
I literally don't have space for my larger pot size, in my middle veg closet. it fits a 5 gallon fabric pot, but it definitely wont fit the 25 gallon pots I use in my flower tent.

Advantage? An additional 2-3 months of veg in the closet, while I flower the one in my tent.

Space/light savings was a big motivator for me. Growing large numbers of plants in a SOG meant going straight to the final pot took up a lot more space to veg for a couple weeks, which means more lights & more cost.

I also liked having more control by watering more often, giving more control over the wet/dry cycle.

The drawbacks are it's more work, more time & you can't ignore them as much.
