Why the big difference in size? Day 17 Veg

Hi everyone!

I´m growing three plants, they are Northern Light Express Auto fem. from Phoenix Seeds. I wounder if the difference in size is because diffrent phenotypes or is it because of something else? Maybe I have done something wrong or diffrent with each plant?

I also find that the biggest plant looks a bit weird compared to the other two, what do you guys think?

They all look good. Some plants just grow faster than others, just like people. I think you're all good.

That sound great I planted one seed in each pot. I planted in four pots to start with, but one of the seeds decided not to show its face at all. I planted them straight into the coco after 24 hrs in a glas of water, but next time I´m think I´m going to try the wet paper-towel method before I plant them. Maybe then I can get germination on all of the seeds I start with.

I get the best results from planting straight in to soil. And I've tried everything at one time or another.

All looks good to me, seeds are all a little different, like how you look different to your brothers and sisters but your parents are the same.

if you find a seed you like, (i.e more vigor or other traits you like ) you can keep it and make it a mother to clone from. clones (cuttings) are identical.

Not because I'm an authority, just because I'm learning like everyone else, and am curious if anyone agrees:

-the first two plants look like they may be getting a bit too much nitrogen. With the first plant, the light make it hard to see colour, but the curled down tips are a possible sign. In the second photo, the very dark, dark green on the lower growth makes me think a bit much N. Doesn't look like a big issue at this point though.

-third plant just looks a little thirsty

Still looking healthy and happy, though. Best of luck to you!

I like the shiny leaves, that is silica in the leaf reflecting light, a sign of high health, these are happy plants

Maybe thats the way to go for me too, in the end it´s a step or two less that I can f*ck up . : )

Yes, I thought about the dark green colour aswell, but I have only given them water up to when I took these pictures, and the plant with the dark green leaves had that colour from the day it poked up from the coco. But maybe it can be diffrent amounts of nutrients in the medium, although I took it from the same bag?



I´m glad they look healthy, it´s so many things to worry about when you grow for the first time. : )
