Why vote in the US for president?

Even that though leads to compromises being made, which I don't think should be a dirty word. Everywhere ends up counting in it's own way, we need to govern 100% of the country so that we can all be successful.

Tell you what, for real let's play 'the name a state game'.

Where do you think Biden has ignored? Ill go dig into it, and we will figure it out together.
You’re missing the point entirely. You’ve spent this entire post defending Biden. I’m not attacking Biden. I’m saying this is how the game is played. To pretend that Biden is also not playing this game would be silly. Not sure why you’re getting defensive. This isn’t a republican or Democrat thing. It’s a politics thing. It makes logical since. Why waste money where you are already going to win?

Dont do that, this is not about Biden in any way other than he is running for office right now and I am sure there is a wide availability of each state information. If you want to pick abritrary politician (recent anyways, not as much documented events pre internet days that is easily searchable) feel free.

I am just saying we could put the dog to bed if we just checked, but there is not a point if I am just convincing myself of what I don't really care enough about to do the work to find out if my opinion of preferring to not spend the resources to change the EC system to a popular vote, is valid.

Or at least not something as easy as can fit into a populous message.

I don’t think it will ever happen I’m just curious why it’s in place. I’m assuming it’s to keep one party from winning over and over?

I liked the History channels explanation.

Parties and states change, it was deeper than that because each interest that combined to form our nation needed a say and protection for the other people from being able to gain too much power over them.

Thinking more about it, the citizens of the states are not the proportion of the population that votes. So those voting citizens in those states are what is impacting the popular vote vs EC per state. I bet that might come to why the popular vs state voting is so off.

The Census is so important, it scares me that Trump messing with it has screwed the Democrats for the next decade by having to overcome a reduction in the 'blue' states city population leaving them with less EC and Congressional seats. They are a good decade ahead of the Democratic party still, at least until Trump, who knows anymore.
