i think they realize this is their last attempt at all the bullshit they want to implement. most see the writing on the wall and this party is imploding... i think they are backing him as long as the majority of their constituents are backing him.

if half of the trump supporters don't turn on him, i have my doubt that the GOP will.

but the United States of America is gonna get donald trump

Polls show that over 80% of republicans think he's doing a good job. No republican running for re-election is willing to go against that block of voters.

But even so, support wouldn't be that high if gop leadership had a backbone and called trump out on racism, bigotry, and corruption. There's also incompetence, irrational behavior, criminal acts, and ties to the russian intelligence services and kremlin.

If the leadership weren't backing him up, his approval rating would be in the 20's and no critter would have to worry about losing an election over backlash.

So why are they backing him? It could be that russian money has been pouring into their accounts and they are being blackmailed over it. It could be that russian inteligence has been building compromat on them for a long period of time.

It could also just be they are greedy criminal grifters who finally see the treasury and public lands open to them. They are going to truck out as much wealth as they can before they get stopped (if they get stopped).

Or it could be all three.

Uhmm, not really. He was helped by massive infusions of foreign money and influence. There is also mounting evidence that actual vote totals were changed during the 2016 election. It is proven the russians were in state voter registries and also in the networks of companies that make the voting booth systems. It will eventually be shown that code was injected to change vote totals. Infosec experts are already saying quietly they found some. But it will be held back from the public as long as possible.

Nobody on either side wants to come out and say it. The gop doesn't want to delegitimize the election and the progressives don't want to kill faith in democracy.

But even with all that aside. 2020 will not be a replay of 2016. The only path trump has to a second term is if the russians and tricksters can get bernie nominated. Then it will be another trump term. Hopefully the democrats are smarter than that, and bernie is working over time pissing off the dem base.

Somebody? We know exactly who. But while those emails may be embarrassing in the moment, unless they show actual illegal acts it's doubtful they will be relevant for very long.

There was nothing really earth shattering in the dem emails. Some infighting and the emails were doctored to make it look worse, but really pretty tame campaign stuff. They were just dripped out over such a long period of time fox and the echo chamber were able to spin lies out of nothing and keep bringing up the fake news.

It is telling that the rnc docs weren't released though. Gets to the corrupt intent of those that controlled both sets of email.

I agree with all you wrote but must caution a point of reality.

they got junior Bush in for 2 terms regardless of conspiracies.
