wiating on Sandy........................

Well Most of my family in Atlantic city still haven't even seen their homes yet. They are not letting everyone into the city, and the city is trashed if you say the storm didn't fuck shit up you haven't been looking. There are still riu members on here no lights stuck in the cold. I am sympathetic with them because living where i lived before i dealt with hurricane after hurricane. Not always terrible but 'canes always bring the bullshit.
 
When these things happen we either get really excited about something unusual happening or descend into chaos because we have absolutely no preparation or defense against natural disasters... Despite us having more twisters (albeit smaller ones) than you. As for full blown hurricanes it hardly happens and when it does noone knows what the fuck to do or how to deal with it..

thoughts are with them man. the news coverage of sandy was fuckin grim. looked like Dresden after WWII
 
Yea ive got a bunch a before n after pics on my social feeds, it was devastating i'm just glad it wasn't as deadly as it couldve been.
 
Wtf? Well not to detract from the topic at hand but I've only ever seen a hedgehogs once so I found it exciting lol. Should go in the Bizarre news or YouTube threads though.

I feel for you guys, where do you even start when your roof had been torn off? I'm lucky where I get flooded you just have to wait a few days to come outside but it's all bush so there's no debris to pick up/street to clear. Fuck, how does anyone afford it? The helpers can5 hold everyone forever so how the fuck do houses get rebuilt? The insurance companies wouldn't pay out for everyone right? Because no one even bother trying to claim insurance money over here for disasters,stingy bastards.

For most people you gotta move house. Homeowners better have insurance and pray they are covered for floods as well. A lot of people will be re-locating. They don't rebuild a damn thing..Look @ New Orleans.
 
So people just keep upping sticks and moving? So like a whole city relocates every couple of months.. You're going to run out of housing and space. God, how much of the US is just left as it was from a storm like New Orleans? (RIP Helen Hill) It's like the expansion of the Sahara. I guess the other good thing is alot of people in the US are homeowners. In the UK many I is don't own and, houses... They don't own shit, but I'd something bad happens the local authority is still not going to pay for it. it's amazing that people live knowing that come a certain time of year their whole fucking world could just end. Makes you not want to bother investing in anything or have nice things :(
