wicked leaf cupping

I did read the faq on moisture issues, but this is a little confusing. Plant has been through a lot, many troubles. I had finally gotten the plant to a fair point with an alfalfa tea, improved for a day. Then plant slipped back after 1 day, more alfalfa tea and a wicked case of leaf cup. Been short on nitrogen, hard to believe alfalfa tea could be that strong. Moisture problem? Pictures bad, but show 1 day change.

man im having the same problem i live in desert area and i think moisture is my issue

I'd say u need some nitrogen for sure try leeching the soil with clean ph'd water mixed with cple drops of dishwashing liquid then you know exactly how much nutes etc that you've got in soil

How close does it look to mine? I'm growing in a loam soil that seems to be light on nutes. Thinking that's my trouble.

flush seems like part of the answer, was really hoping the alfalfa was going to give me enough. Maybe not at this rate.

what confuses me is the speed, 24 hours and massive nitrogen loss? flush like hell then replace nutes, that's the standard method. just transplanted about 4 days ago, shouldn't be toxic buildup so quick?

nutes other than the tea?

slow breaths are a good start
ph'd the outflow at 6.4 with test drops,
had been watering every 3 days, last water/feed was after 2 days when i tried to fix lighter color in leaves
temp has been mostly mid 70's, but did just have a warm spell, temp did hit 88 in grow chamber, back to 70's now
only other nute was bone meal applied as top dressing about a week ago, 6-9-0, Miracle Gro organic

Do you ph you water when you feed it to your plant. And if so to what ph. You in soil right? If so lets just focus on phing what goes in and not to much on what comes out.

I am sure you have a deficiency. The issue is it from it needing more nutes or a ph issue. Ph will lockout nutes and the act of adding more nutes to a lockouted plant will casue even more problems and lead to dead plants.

You nutes are 6-9-0? if so that there is another issue. For veg thye are out of whack. You wnat a higher N and pretty close p and k. instead of 6 n 9 p and 0 k.

When they are dry I would flsuh with plain phed water. This will reset the medium to the phed level. Than the next time they need watering after wards I would feed them 1/4th strength veg nutes. The ones you will go get with a higher N than P and K. Make sure you ph the water after you add the nutes. Nutes can drop ph big time. Than if the like the nutes increase the strength slowly. Feed once a week.

Regardless of your issues, once we make sure evrything else is fine this watering and feeding should fix the issue. I perosnally think its a lack of some nutes compouned by lockout from ph of others.

It will take some time but we can save them and they will recover

Not precisely 6-9-0, i top dressed with 1 tbsp of 6-9-0 bonemeal, mostly been depending on the alfalfa tea, about 1 week ago was using manure tea but didn't seem to help, teas also have molasses at 1 tsp per gallon

that's where i was heading, everything was looking good, and then fell off a cliff

it's not ph, i've checked that close, and i do trust the drops, not so much meters unless they are the high end type

I would get a solid veg nute to use as well. If the ph is correct like you say than your nutes are not covering all the plant needs. I use fox farms. I love em. But you can get some general veg nutes. Just get a higher N and more even P and K ratio.

You seem to be set for success I think its just the nutes holding you back.

This does seem to be the case, I just don't think I'm getting the horsepower that I need from alfalfa tea(sigh). The thing was it looked so good for about a day. I had a lot of trouble getting there, and when the plant finally looked good, I screamed 'I'm there". Thanks again.

No even your day of looking good she looked deficient.

This is a healthy fed plant. This is one of my clones just put in 12/12






Just go get better nutes. Nute once a week and start slow. I use grow big from fox farms. Its 6-4-4 npk. That is all I use for veg. I start out at 1/4th strength for a feeding or 2 than go up to 1/2 strength. Feeding once a week.

Next make sure you are not over watering. I water once every 4 or 5 days sometimes. I use a soil moisture meter and water when it says dry. When I water I give it the same amount of water as the container size. I grow in 1 gallon bags so I water 1 gallon of water. My clones are in 16 oz cups and I water 16 oz.
