will a 60 watt candescent bulb keep swim's plants from flowering for a month?

Will the plants keep from flowering under a 60 watt bulb?

  • They will not flower under a 60 watt bulb as long as there's more than 12 hours of light each day

  • The plants will begin to flower because of the drastic reduction in amount of light

ok so,,, swim is getting new plants this weekend, already 3ft tall.

swim's flower rooms not gonna have room for them for about a month.

if swim puts a little 60watt candescent light bulb in there will it keep them from flowering, or will such a drastic reduction in amount of light (from 600 watts) cause them to flower

swim doesn't work here. If YOU put YOUR plants under a 60w incandescent for a month, YOU will have some super fucked up stretchy plants.

Bro, you'll get a lot more respect and some serious answers if you don't post like we are idiots.

As to your question I think you will end up with serious stretched hermies. As you hinted at, that is a serious drop in lumens during veg and the plants will do what they can to get closer to that light; three feet tall already is a lot of plant to light up. Besides which, if the plants are healthy and not stretched already, what is wrong with taking three foot plants into flowering now? They are gonna put some size on through flower and teasing them with 60 watts for thirty days is only going to make for weak cola's later.

But such a small amount of light probably won't make them grow that much, right? i thought stretch comes from lights being too far away from the plants, but if the source was very weak how could it make them grow

and the OP is running around trying to give people growing advice :?
yah, turns out theres varying degrees of difficulty in techniques to employ in your grow, and simple things vs really complex things. to this there is a complex answer, and frankly anyone who wants to be smug on these forums can suckit, no1 wants your snarky remarks. don't be a loser

the fact of the matter is, plants need light to grow. how can a plant grow when it doesn't have a sufficient amount of light to do so? if i put a 60watt candescent bulb above some small plants, even at a distance where they were not inclined to stretch, they wouldn't grow much at all, much less grow with a great distance between internodes.

the only reason i asked this question is because i was told by someone that once they had a really bad stretch of weather in june that caused their plants to begin to flower before the equinox. if you think me asking for clarification from other people about something i heard is noobish, i frankly don't care, and have never been one to let my ego keep my from increasing my knowledge base. if you wanna ego trip, go for it
