Will cheap solar-powered LED footpath lights fool cannabis to stay in veg during winter?

It will work with stronger solar powered LED Flood lights but you have to manually turn them on in the middle of the night. I grew this way for about a year and a half, just to see how little I could spend to grow cannabis. Now I just use a shop light on a timer for 1 hour at midnite.
It will not work with the landscaping lights you are thinking of using.
shoplifhts for the win.

Not true, I have succesfully used sunforce brand 1000 lumen solar powered flood lights to keep plants in veg and have gotten plants to decent size this way. Having power is extremely helpful but it can still be done with solar lights....just not the weak little pathway lights they sell for $1-2. 10 foot candles equals 10 lumens per sq ft....which is hardly anything.
Sorry i know this is a old post , but how many did you end up using on how many plants

I had two of those lights and probably around 8-10 plants. They could get to about 5 ft tall before the lower branches got too shaded. I would just turn the lights on at 11pm and let them go till the batteries run out. Now I just use 12w LED bulbs on a timer, which works alot better if you have access to electricity.

Interesting I didn’t know that, I figured you had to keep the lights on for 18 hour cycle to keep them in a vegetative state
It works fine both ways. If you are going to attempt the solar lights, better to have them turn on around midnight because the battery life isnt super long and you might only get 1-2hours of strong enough light. If you have access to electricity, a timer that turns on at sunset is a little less disruptive to the plants.

Ok just so im on the same page as you , lets say its 6pm hawaii time and i bring my plants in to where i typically leave the lights on till 12midnight to veg , ur saying i could just bring them in at 6pm and have the timer turn on the lights at 12 midnight until the light runs out which is 2 hrs , then the next morning when i wake up repeat process take plants outside durring day and bring back in and let timer come on at 12am

Yep, turning on for 1-2 hours at midnight will keep them in veg. Its a good way to veg plants in their final pots that might be too big to move every night. Those solar lights are usually somewhat weather proof, so you can keep them outside where your plants are during the day, unless the light is too conspicuous.
