Will coco coir and peat moss work for a base?

This year I used peat and coco instead of regular compost. My seeds are growing but not as well as I thought. But I have to keep in mind the place I got the seeds isn't always the best of places. Wondering if anyone else used this before and how where the results?

To make a soil base, you would need around 1/3 peat, 1/3 compost, and 1/3 aeration (perlite, pumice, etc.) Plus the npk ammendments. Look up the "no till" thread here or the many "living soil" threads. You can use half coco and half peat for that 1/3 if you like, I've had good results mixing them in the past. I was just checking out this guy's thread, you might find it interesting, the recipe he used is a few posts down the first page https://www.icmag.com/forum/marijuana-growing/indoor-grows-soil/376080-notill-scrog-living-soil-organic. Good luck!

It's probably better to either use peat or coco but not both as they have different properties. It can be done but sticking with one or the other as a base is usually more problem free.

With coco I prefer to run it 100% straight and feed with every watering.
