Will hanging a 125w cfl vertically between my plants be ok??

Im using a 400w HPS and just about to flower.

I want to add extra light as im in a tent. Will that be ok? It will be Red spectrum, and will it burn the plats if it touches, which it probably will.

A 125 WATT CFL IS STRONG ENOUGH TO BURN THEM, IF IT TOUCHES THEM.

Can't you get it in between them to keep two inches away?

i think you will be able to fit it in just dont put it too close

I just burned my plant with a 26 watt cfl. Just make sure it doesn't touch the bulb and you will be cool

I wanted to stick it bang in the middle but after reading I think in the corner might be less risk.

From the lower corner ill hang from it will be at max, about 80cm from the furthest plant. Will that be ok?

You can always test it out and monitor closely for trouble. If u catch it early and correct no biggie

The light will be greatly reduced out at 80cm, what you want is 25 or 30 cm. That's the problem with big cfls IMO - you can't position them into tight places. But since that's what you have I'd try to move things around as much as you can, think about maybe clamping it instead of hanging it, and find the spot where it is within 3 in of as much foliage as possible but no closer than two. It's like a jigsaw puzzle, I know.

you can put it anywhere dude, the middle is fine. Just dont let the plant touch the bulb. When it grows, adjust. Easy

Another question is does the light only enter the plants from the top side of the leaves?

I ask as the new light will be under some leaves.

idk it looks pretty bushy and tight in there. if theres not anyway to put a few inches between the plants just put it on the bottom somewhere, maybe horizontal?
