So I'm doing 12 monster plants, each scrog'd in their own 4'x4' table (well...4'x4' gazebo on wheels...). I'd like to start all 12 plants in 10" net pots on a single 4'x4' table to save on electricity/light usage. I'd even start LST'ing them while in the net pots by tying them to the net pot itself. They will eventually each be moved into 20 gallon smart pots sitting on a pot elevator inside a drain pan. The pots will be filled with coco coir/perlite in a drain to waste system.
I haven't used net pots before, and am not sure if the net pots will restrict the root growth as they start to fill out the 20 gallon pot. I've heard some imply that there shouldn't be much of a problem. I imagine you just wouldn't get a thick taproot? just smaller roots that can fit through the net pot? Thoughts anyone?
