How strong is 'too strong'? If possible, I'd like to put cuttings in ebb and flow tray, but it only has one res and that res has nutes. I know you are supposed to be able to put cuttings under a dome with rockwool cubes and let them go, but it seems like they get too dry.

Ammonium nh4 can stop cutting from rooting on gh old 3 part line the used to say 1/4 tea spoon per gallon of water wich isnt much some growers use sea weed for cuttings , ive had my best luck with just plain water

Well I think the general plan here is that you are supposed to be in control of EVERYTHING
Plants don't get just get dry, that just doesn't HAPPEN!!
you forget or neglect to water them and they die as a consequence to your lack of attentiveness
Don't want them dry, then water them...........what's the issue? work it dude!!
strength? start out (just a suggestion here) at maby 10% and work your way up slowly untill you feel that the plant is so robust that if you over nute the plant it will survive.
Don't know where that fine line is? then you'd better be carefull and not get aggressive. Like a DR., above all, do no harm. At least not yet. Little baby is just that, a little fragile baby

That's the thing, your not supposed to have to water them. You take wet rockwool cubes and a thin layer of water, and the cuttings are supposed to not need anything for a couple weeks. In theory it makes sense - water can't evaporate once the air in the dome hits 100% humidity, and some of the water condenses on the dome and drips back down. Just seems like it gives a shitty success rate - about 60-70 when everyone else seems to be having damn near 100. Plus, the domes fit on the e&f table better than the trays. The e&f table is just all-around sweet really. I wish I could build a second one, but don't really have the room.
