Yep...have you experimented yet? Sry kinda thread jacked you, but were on the same topic
Had a male and i butcherd it and put it back under my veg lights because i had some girls over a while back. It started growing all new branches. There was only a fluffy top left on him and it grew back.

Nice...now you just have to take the same straine under exact same conditions but one regular and one revegged to find if yield is greater with female clones or revegged female clones...which is what im doing now but clone is reverted not my plant...so rooting will take a bit, 2 weeks at the least

Glad to see someone still uses males for experimenting and not just pollinating...trial and error doesn't matter so much but then again the outcome could be diffrent because of the sex...oh well idk 100% sure til im done expiramenting

My friend says he'll get more than 2 CFL's, but I highly doubt he will. I'll just let him grow it back into a "mother" lol so I can click her later again. I've got 130 watts of CFL right now, gonna try to order some high watt bulbs off amazon this week to up it.

If your trying to use only cfl's the only ones worth getting are called envirolites and their near impossible to get shipped to the U.S...hydroponic stores can usually get there hands on them...getting a decent hps set up would be worth the investment

We might as well refer to "your friend" as you.

According to what i've read they come out bushier if the clone was in flower and put back to veg...
flowering clones, as I understand, branch and produce new growth at a quicker rate. Supposedly, the clone from a flowering plant has a more mature cellulose structure which allows for more efficient growth.

...snip...I suggested chopping the top 8 - 12 inches and rerooting it....snip....
Have you ever tried to root the top part of a plant after being in flower? I have and it wasn't pretty and didn't work. For me the tops have been the hardest to root. But my philosophy is once given away it's not mine anymore to worry about it. So I'd wash my hands of it.

Of course CFLs can't penetrate a 5' plant. So he will be disappointed. But by allowing him to make his own mistakes he maybe so proud of the little smoke he gets (and if you praise him and say hey this was pretty good imagine how you could do if you got serious), my guess is he'd do much better next time. So don't rescue him in the long run he will learn more from being allowed to make his own mistakes.
