I would point out it would be a lot easier to know if you actually gave some examples of what you felt actual Democrats in office did that was worthy of the 'both sides' narrative.

I miss the days when Republicans thought terrorism was a bad thing.
Jan 6, to me, created a sharp dividing line between the two parties regarding extremes in partisan politics. A large base of Republicans and their leaders do not believe there should be any consequences from the bloody coup their leaders attempted that day. They are still trying to regain power through anti-democratic means. Packing the courts is one example. Making it harder for minorities to vote is another. Gerrymandering to reduce minority representation in government is another. Manipulating polling sites and sending defective polling equipment to sites with higher minority populations is another. Opposing vote by mail is another. I see what they are doing. A minority party is using every means possible, legal and in the case of Jan 6, illegal to stem the tide of history in this country. They are trying to institute permanent minority white rule. This is what MAGA means.
MAGA now controls the SCOTUS. The Supreme Court is set to make affirmative action illegal. The justices who will do that were chosen by presidents elected by a minority vote in this country. A minority who is mostly white and mostly male. They recently ruled that women may not choose to have an abortion unless their state allows it. Just saying. You can point at how Democrats are partisan and say both side do it and you aren't wrong. But I'd rather point at how the two groups are behaving. They aren't the same.

Well my wife came here illegally as a child (due to being from a war torn country), and went to public school for several years in California without having a green card, until her father later applied for amnesty. I can't really speak directly the the driver's licence situation, but there is this:

I dont particularly see the problem with children being told they can attend school regardless of their immigration status since its a child and they didnt bring themselves here.
A child cannot do the said paperwork for a green card most regular adults can barely do it. you typically need someone versed in law to do it considering its so convoluted

I remember in the early 90's in the rural school I went to we had kids of the yearly migrant worker that would work at the local farms come to our school. I think denying them an education is unnecessarily cruel.

I agree, and one of the things that disturbs me most is when I drive by a field of migrant farm workers, and see their school-age kids working in the fields with them. They should be in school, not in the fields.

If it is anything like when I was a kid, it is hard for the boys to not get kicked out of school due to the other students picking fights with them. It is not like they have access to daycare back then.
Might not be the case with the kids you are seeing, but you never know how they ended up being out there.
esp with todays current school requirements for sickness
you get one sniffle and oyure out for like a week

The kid across the street from us has been kicked out of three schools I think. I don't know his story, but his parents seem to be immigrants and speak an indigenous central american dialect. They don't seem to give their kids much attention, so sometimes when one of them misses the school bus they knock on our door and ask for a ride.
We have a large migrant community here, it's something like an influx of 60,000 migrants through the Monterey Bay area each year. There are fields all around the area, regularly worked throughout the seasons my mostly immigrant farm workers. The kids I've sometimes seen are definitely working alongside the adults. For all I know their parents aren't even there, and I'm making presumptions. They could have been separated from their parents, or be orphans. Either way, it's sad to see them working the fields alongside adults at 10 years old.
