Phenomes relate to sound and language. I think you are probably referring to "phenos" aka phenotypes.
Here is the
wiki article, which explains the literal defenition of phenotype. In growing terms, we use the word pheno to explain the differences exhibited by plants of the same strain.
Sometimes you can buy a pack of seeds, of the same strain, and on growing them out, you find that some of the plants taste more citrus-like, and others more skunk-like. Or sometimes, broader leaves on some plants than on others. etc.
These are examples of different phenos, at least in the terms growers use.
