will t-5 lights lower my yeild?

i currently have my 1 month old plants (from seed) under 6 2ft t-5 lights (6500 for veg) and was wondering can i keep them under this t-5 light until i decide to flower them or should i eventually put them under my 600 watt mh bulb? if i should switch from the t-5 to the 600 watt MH when should i do it?

would i get a bigger yeild from the mh compared to the t-5?

and when i get to flowering i will be switch to a 600 watt hps bulb and will be using my t-5 lights as a secondary light source for a little extra boost.

yes i would run the MH right now and HPS and your t5 for flower. that will work great

I would use those t-5s through a nice veg, then switch to just Hps for flowering. The hps and t-5 side by side will be a waste the hps will out lumenate the t-5s by far. Side lighting could be done I guess.

ok im still a little confused it seems one person said switch to the mh bulb now and one is saying just use the t-5 light until you flower. so which is best things are going good so far with the t-5 light so im a little afraid to switch to the mh but on the other hand if switching to the mh bulb now will make my plants bigger and healthier and cause me to get a bigger yield then i want to switch to my 600 watt mh bulb. so what would you guys do?

These are T5's & 12 at 4 weeks...... they OK all through..ya not as much as HPS.. but a 400HPS isn't as good as 1000w.. all relevent if $$ & heat an issue.. no vents 1 fan.. low power consumption.. from what I see...dollar/effort. much less with T's for decent outcome..

ok so using my t-5 will give me pretty much the same results as if i switch to my 600 watt mh? and i am strictly talking about just the veg stage.

Pretty damn close from what I've seen in others posts... I myself have not used MH so I can't say honestly.. but this present grow I'm using philips son agro 430 HPS with 30% more blue to veg with.. and the veg size and quality is the same as the T veg was. IMO......

ok thnks for the replies anyone else ever use t-5 and mh for VEG and did ya see a difference when using the t-5 compared to the mh

I was useing mh in veg, I always ran into heat problems, which delays growth. So I switched to t5s and holy cow Batman, they really took off and grew like weeds.

But for bloom, well if you can I would go hps.

MH's are about 10 degress hoter then HPS. my room goes from 87 degrees MH to 78 degress with the HPS:hump:

I have seen lower height and less stretching with T5's.
The MH gave more depth, more stem circumference and LOTS more heat.

Dude, you have a 600w MH light and not using it? Use the T-5's as side lighting with the 600w MH as the sun :hump: You'll have great results.

I think the 600w MH will out perform the T-5's if you did a side by side comparison grow but they are definately very respectable.

I've always used T-5s for everything, I've compared my plants to buddies using HPS/MH lights and I can tell you right off the bat my root zones killed the shit out of theirs. But if I could I would run HPS for flowering, it has a lot better penetration and you would have to prune a lot less. T5s dont break through the canapoy of fan leaves very well and your lowest branches will either not bud for shit, or die from lack of light :(

News 2 me. Good to know. I was in a 10x10 room with 3 mh (600) and I just could not keep the heat down. So when I switched to t-5, well it really was a great grow (veg). So soon (still waiting on yearly walkthrough from reality agency) I am going to kick off my garden, useing 4 foot 8 bulb t-5 for veg and proably 600hps for bloom. Now I wonder what would happen If I switch to t-5 the last 2 weeks of bloom? I would like to see more sticky icky trichs by doing this.
