Will this Closet Set-up work?

So, I had a small issue where my plant wilted and I got some discoloration on leaves. I believe this was an underwatering issue, and I have been keeping closer eye on the amount of water I use now.

I cleared a little more leaves and now have tied it down. Waiting for alittle bit more growth on each side before I top it the final time.

I haven't added any more lights yet, but it seems to be okay for now. I hope this doesn't really reduce my yield.

Alright, made the final cuts for the veg training. Now, I will be just looking for some decent growth before I flip to flower.
The topping and defoliating I've done should result in 8 crowns that are all about equal in size, shape, etc.

Would it be a bad idea to add more lights mid-grow? Either now, or when I begin flowering? Will that offset the plant or stunt growth in any way?

more light would be a definite improvement. especially during flowering. if you are on a tight budget you could consider this for flowering.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KMW7RYM/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I16MXY1M60S5MV&colid=AW7UKM9ED6GM.the HPS bulb could be replace with a 150 watt MH or CMH bulb for vegging.cheap EBAY LED's do not last long. if you drop the money on expensive LED's they will last but you may need to ad a CAL-MAG supplement. too much light can slow growth and cause fox tailing but your a long way from that point

i don't know your financial situation, but a lot of people are checking out quantum boards, including myself, would be an excellent unit for your limited space, check out this thread

HLG is doing some good stuff, at pretty reasonable prices
Thanks, I will look into it.
Appreciate all the replies.

EDIT:

The DIY seems way out of my capabilities right now. I have no idea how to do electronics or wiring or anything.

However, that light on Amazon seems like a pretty solid deal so I am going to go ahead and give that a try. Thanks!

Thats roughly the same sized space i grow in. Get some mylar on the walls if you can though and take advantage of a small space with intense light. LST and get the following pics

PS your heat and air flow will become an issue so just leave the door open. If you have to leave it closed with lights
WOW!
Incredible. I'll try and get some better measurements of my space.
I considered Mylar when I started, but I read that white painted walls are nearly as effective.
But with results like that, I am intrigued.

Also love the makeshift plant ring :p

The enthusiasm is nice but theres a lot of steps up that can be made all the time.
For example i grow in a small space JUST to take advantage of it.
Imagine 10 cfl bulbs burning in a small reflective closet for your veg state....
They have to stay close to your plant. 3 to 4 inches away circling the whole plant being raised up by pullies as needed.
Makeshift ring does wonders for that kinda LST love.

I prefer mylar because if you are moderately careful with it and keep it CLEAN it will last you years. Paint dulls quick, or you gotta paint it too often. This is why its technically cheaper to just pay for something of quality.
I have sunglasses too because 10 23w cfl bulbs get bright as fuck :-P

Yeah, this is only my 2nd grow and I basically improved every aspect of it from the first. My living situation prevents me from going all out with it, though I would like to.

I've since added a ring and begun getting that nice shape going so that all my buds can grow equally like those.
AND!
The light I mentioned purchasing came in today, so I will have that up and hanging shortly.

A ring will be your best friend. Dont LST out to far. Once you get close to the width you want. Stop holding stems down and let them grow upright. The weight of the bud later will set it back down to that previous position spreading away from each other when they drop back down but still point up. if do right youll gets buds the run up the entire branches.
Good luck and have fun.
:Note: six inch twisty garden ties are recommended cause its easy to make a hook and snag onto a branch thats hard to get to.

Well, that new light definitely added some heat. 5 degrees or more higher than my average from before.
My compromise is that I will run that light for the majority of the day when I am not home, and then run on just the LED while I am sleeping.

Not only is that new light very bright, but it also elevates the temperature of my whole room, making it quite uncomfortable to sleep.
So for now, this set up is working for me.

Skeptical of using mylar now though, because everywhere I have read says that it contains heat, which is not what I really want to be happening.

Mylar is used also in clothing and space blankets. In which case it is meant to retain heat.
I can totally see some ppl getting a bad vibe if they misunderstood what they read.
Im thinking if someone had this problem while growing and it was due to the mylar, then they didnt take into consideration how reflective it is. The better your flection in a small place is you dont need AS MUCH light. Just a small portion but whether its straight from the lamp our a combination of good reflection, too much light can play a factor.
In a small grow space heat should not be an issue simply because one more fan or a better fan, and it venting out properly is all you need.
Im sure one day youll try it if you continue to grow. ;-)

I am willing to try it out now, its not a money issue or anything.
I just got a bit worried when i was hitting 91+ temps. However, I noticed if I keep the door open and my ceiling fan also on, that it stays around 88 which I am more okay with.

I do have a 2nd fan I could put in there to help circulate and vent more.

Get the other fan too
Yeah, I'll set it up.

Am I good to leave this plant in a single pot its whole life? or could it become root bound. I started it in a bigger pot than my first grow, so I could maybe avoid transferring. But I don't want to potentially mess it up.

I started in a closet. Much like your set up. Eventually, I just bought a cheap tent. Works great. As far as cheap lights, I can't comment on Mars, I have never used them, I used MH/HPS for the longest time. Last year I made the move to all LED's. I use King LED's, they are cheap(er) than the big names, and so far I have no issues. I have two 1k watt of their fixtures in my tent, and man they do good work.

Here is the lights I use. I am seriously considering moving to the new 2k lights.

sadly i dont think i could afford moving up to that right now. my living conditions mean i have to be much more lowkey about things, and i am fine with it for now.
when i get a better space, i will probably upgrade everything.

Looking good MadZen; a little droopy looking in one or two pics but that might just be the way they are though.
Happy Growing :)

Have you considered getting a 400w mh/hps from vivosun? That where I started when I got fed up with messing cfl's. They are cheap and work really well. I'm on my cell so I haven't been able read back through the thread.
