Will this hyrdo concept work?

I'm working on a building a table top hydroponic system. This is my continuous flow (never-ending stream) concept. Here are my questions for you guys out there before I build it.
1. Will it work? Does my idea make sense?
2. Will it be best used for flowering or vegging?

any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I am working on my first LEGAL grow op. so I need to step my game up!

yeah i looked into those but they where in enclosed in pvc tubes, my idea is with a 2x4 foot 5" deep tote ( under bed tote)....still the same concept? well I guess it kinda is

this is what im setting up in my basement. its called a "bigfoot complete" and i got it brand new for $150. sometimes hydro places will get u into something cheap cause they know youll be back for meters, nutes, median, etc. look, tho...same thing, just no slant...its still ebb and flow. and WTF is the air stone for??? its not SWC, and if youre changing every week youll be fine.

Ok, i had to find this link again. Took me forever. But here this is a quick glance of all the general systems.
http://www.simplyhydro.com/system.htm

I've broken them down into essentially 3 principles or categories.
1. Water moving = (NFT/Drip/Wick)
2. Air moving through water = (DWC)
3. Water moving through air = (True Aeroponics/Misting/Sprayers)

Your system is sound. Coco over hydroton inmho.

Also it is possible to combine all three principles into one system. Recirculating deep water culture is an example of two combined principles. All systems pretty much use the second principle in the reservoir.

(Possible Rant)
DWC is my favorite for less is more. RDWC is unnecessary according to multiple opinions here. I have a back up battery airpump that connects into the wall so it knows to come on when power goes out. Costs 3.50 and two d batteries at petsmart. Redundancy can be cheap and a life saver. You never know. Best to be safe right?

Ok, wanted to post a very crude three principle bucket. Excuse me for this.

Roots that make it past the Nft tube, and aero misters can chill and relax in the dwc at the bottom.

I wish I could make pictures like this.View attachment 1286056

i dont know if the air stone is necessary but i figured it wouldn't hurt( i got a couple air pumps line and air stones just sitting around), was thinking of making a O2 chamber before the water hits the tray with the airstone in it to oxydize the water before it hits the roots...pointless?

should i have it on continuous flow or set the pump on a timer and only run it for short periods of time through the day light hours?

u want ur tray to fill a few times a day for about 15 minutes...thats what i do....i dont know if its sloping, though...i really dont.

Never pointless. Never enough oxygen. Never enough redundancy.

Best to just do it. Post results. Maybe neither pump ever fails on you. Maybe they do fail and you feel like the lucky son of a gun who backs his hard drive up the day it crashes to hell.

@Rhino~ ive seen something like that looks easy and efficient! i got all the parts i would need to make the design i had in mind so i geuss the best ways to know if somthing works or not is to build it and let it run!
@Nubby~ Yeah that was what i was thinking maybe a continuous flow for like 20 mins every couple hours. just got to experiment with it to find out whats best ill keep you guys posted ill start construction tomorrow and post pics of the construction

If i were you, I'd just go ahead and get a dutch leach tray. They are about 15 bucks at the local hydro store and come with all the fittings. Lids usually cost the same, but you don't have to get them.
I'd use a coco cap type deal

You could use the totes as a reservoir.
Edit: I realize, that 60bucks can be alot to have just 4 of those on a table. I like them a lot though. Although maybe 60 isn't a lot compared prefab systems.

your saying use four of those instead of the tote? i like building things so i might just build it anyways and try it out lol if it dont work i wasted a few hours of my life...trials and tribulations i guess!

If you just want to try it. Buy just one. Add some drip lines to it and have it run off into the reservoir you have going for your tote. It's just 15 bucks. You can do all sorts of crazy things with a dutch tray. You could put square pots with drip steaks in it, you could drop a slab of grodan stuff in it. buy a lid and net cups and turn it into an nft tray. You could even not drill holes in it and buy a lid and the net cups and make a crazy dwc tray.. It's amazing. I'm suprised hydroshops dont sell these things harder.

Edit had to add pics. This is a system completely put together(with sprayers). Pricetag at the store is 1069. It's nuts.
